Hi everyone.

I am intending to build a website in the travel niche where I will display various deals, discounts, vouchers, packages etc from major travel websites such as expedia, ebookers, smartdestinations etc. I will create a facebook, twitter, tumblr and maybe a blog for my site. I will not write any unique content. All the information and ads will be provided by the travel websites themselves.

I am new to this internet marketing thing and have basic web design and computer skills. I have never owned a website before.

I will try to join the affiliate programmes offered by these major websites. Basically I will be their middle man. I will build a list of email addresses from the users and will send them all these offers by email.

My question is "Is this a good way to earn $400 dollars a month in 6 months time?"

An example of a website similar to mine would be
San Diego Go Card Promo Codes, Discounts, Reviews, How it Works, and More!

Thank you and apologies if it is a dumb thing to ask.

Nice way to get a link to your site. You really don't have to lie to people

That's not my website. It is a site making $200 a month for sale I saw on Digitalpoint forum. I want to make a similar but better site as I have limited skills and don't have first hand experience or unique content.

      Thanks for your input though.

Why would you think that it's the OP'S site and lying about it?

I see no evidence of that!

Thanks, I will look around for a web designer on fiverr and other similar freelance sites. I am not willing to spend more than $100 $200 on the design in the begining though as I don't have that much capital.

So you don't want to write content for your site, you don't want to invest much of anything into your vision, and you want $400 a month for it?

Good luck but you aren't going to have much luck. You have 2 choices if you want success.

Work for it and learn how to do what is needed to make your vision reality, or have plenty of capital (thousands not a couple hundred) to outsource everything necessary to others.

I understand you're new and it's common for newcomers to think online success is just given for nothing or next to nothing.

Lots of work or lots of money. It's your choice.

      Thanks for your input Mike

Not having to write my own content is one of the reasons why I chose this idea. The website will not be dependent on my first hand experience of all these places and services. Expedia and other major travel websites have already done the research and the hard work.
The reason I chose this idea is that I don't have any great skills nor experiences to share. (blue collar worker). I have no exciting story of rags to riches to share. (at least not yet ).

I will have another website where I will write my own reviews of websites so I am willing to work hard and write my own content.

I agree with Mike, there's nothing such an easy or shortcut way even in internet marketing business. You should put an effort or invest some money.

You need to do more research into travel affiliate programs before moving forward because your plan as of now is a waste of time.

You can do the list thing if you want to, but the central hub of your business needs to be an authority site covering specific destinations. Each affiliate referral doesn't pay enough money to rely on an email list alone. You'll send $800 worth of airfare and get paid $5 for that. So if you want to promote something in a more intimate email list setting, this definitely isn't it. You need to rake in the Google traffic to make this work.

It might be a good idea to narrow down the niche a little. There are hundreds of types of travellers: student backpackers, beach resorts, retired folk, etc etc. I would advise breaking down these niches and seeing which ones are hottest.
