eBook in Flash Format?

Hey everyone,

I have an interactive product that is currently in .xml/.xsl format. Not common I know but i've made a few sales with it (without marketing it much). Anyways I'm reviving it now and I've gotten some experience with developing flash catelogues since then and wondered if anyone has had a product made with flash instead of a .pdf or .html etc...?

Thanks!

If that's also an information product, you should take into consideration that many people want/like to print eBooks to read them on paper and write notes... so the preferred format is still PDF.

I actually used to be concerned about this, but not anymore. I now use PAGES09 for ebook production and create them in a graphical, magazine style layout, certainly not designed for easy printing.

      I have a before-and-after comparison posted here:

PDF downloads are so common now that once a surfer downloads one, they are likely to download many. That also means the reader is finding a way to read it via laptop, desktop or hand-held gadget - rather than printing.

I like the idea of a Flash eBook too. This could be turned into a genuine template product for marketers.

Well I can easily make the electronic version in flash, and also have printer friendly versions of the information.

My question is has anyone done it? I never see them that's why I'm asking.

    Adobe's FlashPaper2 is the product I use.

The file will pretty much instantly open in the users browser regardless of size. I've not found a printable format that it will not convert. Really easy to add to your site, the software generates html code that you can just add to your existing page. Can be brought into your other flash projects. Customizable to fit on your page. Relatively inexpensive.

Follow this link to view a video of the product's features:

Hint:Turn your speaker volume down, the video auto starts.
