Greetings!

How many of you here have directory websites?

Can you recommend of a theme or plugin that is good for good local directory website?

Clean look, professional, easy to use, as well as something where we could add listings and support business owners claiming their listing and paying for an upgraded listing.

Do you think this is still lucrative?

Your inputs will be very much appreciated.

I had started a directory site few years back. But Shut it down after googles updates. Now directories not so much important for SEO. Specially if you have a new directory which don't have any pagerank.

I've been looking into MemberFindMe for a directory site, it's paid but it seems pretty well featured.

Connections Business Directory also.

I would only recommend it for a community based site, like everyone else said it's not a worthwhile tactic for links. But I think the right niche would have enough user interest to make a directory practical.
