A fast Google search let me to a review, a little copy of that.

    1. It cannot bulk smush images
    2. It cannot indicate to you whether it is smushing the image or not. I had to manually check by saving the image back to my desktop and comparing the original and the wordpress uploaded image to confirm there was a file size difference.
    3. It cannot smush images that already exist inside your wordpress site before installing smush it. However someone did point out that there is a plugin called AJAX Thumbnail Rebuild which will rebuild your existing thumbnails to go through smush it. But that solution carries problems of its own.
    4. Smush.it, service that is used for images' processing, has limit of 1MB per file so you can't do anything about it.

    Remember Google is your friend

Actually it can, once you activate the plugin go to Media -> Bulk Smush and it will go through every image you have ever uploaded through Wordpress.

One more drawback though - it only smushes stuff in the wp-uploads folder (basically anything you have uploaded when creating pages/posts). That means it won't auto-smush the images that are part of your theme, you have to manually smush them.

I personally use it on my blogs. You can actually bulk smush images. When you first download the plug in you go to media -> bulk smush.it and it will tell you how many images you have in your library to smush and ask if you like to bulk smush.it. At the click of a button it will do them all and tell you how much the file size reduced. It also tells you in your media library. If you add a new image it will automatically smush it. The only downside I have found so far is the 1mb limit which I don't actually run into too often.

You could use GTMetrix.com which is a fantastic tool. It's more of a performance/speed testing application, but it will auto smush images for you in the report. The only downside is that you need to download each image from their site and replace the file on your site which can be really time consuming, the Smush plugin does that automatically.

It also only does one page at a time, so it's even more time consuming.

Yes 1mb per image. It's not the plugin that has the limit, it's the API. Smush.it is owned by Yahoo and they hard-coded the 1mb limit, any plugin or software which uses Smush.it has the 1mb limit: https://developer.yahoo.com/yslow/smushit/faq.html

I use it. As others have said you CAN bulk smush images that are already on your site.

It sped up my site nicely.
