To Upsell Or Not To Upsell....

So, I have an information product ready to go (landing pages, product, etc.) and I've almost completed a second product which is a membership site.

The two are a bit related... the info product is a web design business model in a box, while the membership site is essentially the Facebook of internet marketing.

Now my question is, do I release the info product and upsell the membership site, vice versa, or do I just launch both separately? I'm usually an affiliate so I'm new to launching my own products.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

    If the membership site complements

the info product you are launching then I would say that you should upsell the membership site.

If they are not related, launch them separately.

    Ohm, i would say.

If its related make the Facebook like site a up sell, while doing this, launch is separately also.

That means 2 Launches + 1 Up sell

If they aren't related make 2 launches

If the first one has an upsell it's up to you if to add another upsell or downsell, if your first offer don't have an upsell I would recommend adding one.

Some people are ready to pay more for the value you're going to provide them in your offer, so by not putting an upsell you're basically losing some sales.

I would ask for the upsell.

Offer your first product for a low price and ask a HIGH price for your second membership offer. You can even have multiple offers after the person buys from you cause that is when they are hot and ready to even buy stuff.

I like this idea a lot. The problem would be if I have two simultaneous launches, wouldn't I then need two different groups of affiliates?

Thanks for the tip! I was thinking about selling the membership site for somewhere around $50, but I've been told to almost double that price. I can't decide if that's asking too much or not.

This made me laugh From the general consensus, it seems like it would be best if I went ahead with the upsell!

I'd say put it as an upsell for a few reasons:

    1) You'll be missing out on some good money if you don't

    2) It can help drive up EPCS

    3) Which can also help attract affiliates (if you plan on using them)

    4) And it will also give you an idea of how it converts...

As well as get feedback from those who are on the inside

Consider the upsell a 'test launch'...

So that you can actually launch it separately later (with improvements) if you like

I used to be one of those really stupid complainers who whined about hating upsells (I know that's not what you're talking about). But I finally just tested the waters as a seller and man, I will rarely go back now. Even my PLR packs - I launch with an upsell. And it doubles my earnings. It's great - they're in a buying mood - but for them it's great too - they get shown something relevant that might also help them.

I agree with the people who said that an upsell is recommended if the products are related. It's always attractive to people if they can order a single product and know they get a free membership or perhaps a free product with the membership.

According to the niche, if you expect affiliates to mail for you, you probably will have to have the upsell to get the visitor value high enough.

Upsells are necessary to maximize your average revenue per customer when the difficult job of putting a prospect into "buying mode" has already been completed.

Add a group coaching or 1-on-1 coaching upsell on top of this as well to further maximize!

Of course, this means you'll be able to deliver the most value, so price accordingly.

Include as an upsell. Build your funnel. People are conditioned to funnels. If you're getting traffic to your main offer, give them the opportunity to see everything related you've got to the main product.
