Ok, you know you own too many domain names when...

I found out I own too many domain names as I was going through the list and discovered that there were three different ones on there I don't even remember buying. On top of that, those three are pretty good domain names!

I guess I'd better get going on some products for those domains.

I know, I know... keep focused on the launch, keep focused on the launch. But how can I when there are so many tempting domain names waiting to be exploited?

Yes, my problem is I set domain names to auto renew, and sometimes I have customers that ask me to pick up a domain name that they don't end up using, but then I forget to shut off auto renew.

It is okay to contact me! I have been developing software since 1999, creating many popular products like phpLD.

I have the same challenge. I own a ton of domain names ( more than 300)and my "intention" is to create some great products/services and market some of them. I ended up selling some and actually made some money and put it back into marketing.

How many is too many and I think it's an addiction. :-)

My embarrassing admission: I reserved boatloads of domains over the years because "I thought they sounded like cool URL's" (before I knew about a little thing called *keyword research*.....) Yikes!

    True story:

I've been accumulating domain names for about 8 years now. Anytime I think of something relatively good, I just go out and get the name. (hey, at $8 each it's not a bad investment)

Fast forward through the years, and I come up with another brilliant idea and a great domain name...I check to see if it's available, and it's not...I check to see when it's expiring etc, to see when I can grab it, and well, um...I already own it.

Seriously. Sometimes, I'm just not that bright.

I did the same thing as queenbuzzy... I once had a brilliant idea and searched for the name... I was mad that it was gone. So I checked whois to see who the ******* was and I was surprised to find out it was me...

I have a few domain names that I had ideas for almost a year ago but haven't done anything with them. Now I have to decide if I want to renew in case I get to these projects over the next year.

I was talking about this to a few others on the most recent London Lunch.
I am a habitual project starter... new great idea, reasearch keywords, buy domains, wash, rinse repeat!
I have some great domains and when I log into godaddy or one of my other domain accounts I think: oh yeah, what I was gonna do with that! must look out the notes from 2 years ago.
I'll focus one day real soon, well maybe fairly soon when I offer my WSO on not procrastinating!

The 4 letter domains have all gone.

Same with most of the 5, and some of the 6...

When the domain name meltdown happens...I'll be there, sitting on top of my li'l 17-25 character goldmines...

LOL same story here, I just renewed about 20 domains that I haven't touched in a year and probably won't within the next 6 months but they do have potential. And with domain names, you really only get one chance before somebody else comes in and scoops it up, parks it on sedo.com and demands you pay $5,000 for it.
