Freelance opportunities?

I want to start learning something new.

I want to learn something from scratch which I could make money from without needing work experience.

I was thinking about learning copywriting, I quite enjoy writing.

Any other suggestions?

Thanks Joe

Do what you can learn and excel at. Being a mediocre writer or designer or whatever it is you want to do won't be beneficial. Excel at something. There are plenty of categories

    Writing
    Web Design and/or Development
    SEO Marketing
    Social Media Marketing
    Graphic Design
    Illustration
    Translation
    IT
    Mobile
    Legal
    Data
    Customer Service
    Sales and Marketing
    Engineering/Blueprints, etc
    Finance
    Project Management

Let's not forget the more fun things like audio production (for a podcast), video production, banner and ad design.

There's also the local market: poster design, flyers design, main street ads for local businesses, and so on.

If you like writing, then you could sell your writing services to other website owners. If you are really good at it, and stick to your time scales, then you will get repeat work.

    Thanks for the replies.

I was thinking about starting some kind of course or buying a book to follow.

I don't really know where to start.

Why not to start as a writer if you enjoy writing?

My advice would be to do some (different) services for free to see which ones you like best. Then, stick with one and find a way to get paid for it.

    Hi Ben,

Consider doing copy, which rocks, or anything that sings to you. Follow what you enjoy.

I dig freelance writing and coaching, and I also love writing so I churn out one, 7,000 word post weekly, along with publishing a ton of eBooks. All stuff I vibe with, or stuff that sings to me.

Freelance writing, web development, and coaching are a few ideas you can explore.

    Onward and upward!

My advice would be to take an internship with a local ad agency or SEO firm and soak up the knowledge like a sponge. In those environments, you'll learn more in a month than you would with a 4 year degree.

I would advise against buying any kind of course though; 99.9999999% of them are scams with very generic information. Just find a mentor and work your butt off, and you'll be there before you know it.

If you enjoy writing then definitely stick with writing for a while.. You can learn Wordpress (really easy) and write content for a blog or an authority site as a side project too!

There are lot of freelance opportunities for writers. Especially if you're good at it.
I suggest you start your own blog? If writing is your passion, then it should be easy to maintain it. Use this blog to show off your sample work, and attract clients. Write paid articles on it from time to time. Register on freelance websites and offer your writing services. There are so many things you can do with this! Good luck!

If you want to learn how to write then I would recommend checking out this website Make A Living Writing - Practical Help for Hungry Writers (not affiliated) it's full of awesome advice for people who want to make REAL money as freelance writers. I'v been working as a freelance writer for awhile now but I only just started tapping into the magazine niche. The website above helped a lot and her books are awesome as well.

I know it sounds like a promotion, but I actually think this website is an excellent resource for writers.
