Hi all,

I am trying to promote a new website and just curious to find ways (and of course the sources) to get higher ranks in search engines. If somebody here may be of help that would be great. Also, I am open to outsources services that may help me promote the website.

Forget search engine rankings for a new website. Google doesn't care about your website and they don't want to rank you. They prefer sites that have been around a while and have authority.

You can spend forever trying to rank and maybe you never will or perhaps you will and then they'll take it away from you overnight because the algorithm updated.

Instead focus on driving DIRECT traffic, I just answered a similar question in another thread so here's the link....

This isn't even a little accurate. Nothing you said was true.

You can gain good search rankings, it is possible. However, it also isn't easy if you don't know what you're doing. You'll want to build a PBN, and you'll want some good content. If you don't know what a PBN is, then you may want to just work on direct traffic sources.

Or you could also look at some of the fantastic posts on the SEO board.

Find a way to be interviewed on TV, radio, or in print and talk about your new website, you can get some huge numbers that way. OK, good luck, Edward Smith.

If it's a new site paid traffic is certainly a good place to start. I'd highly suggest some sort of sign-up form on the home page to capture contact info in exchange for a monthly newsletter or report. In this manner you can continue to let your subscribers know of updates to your site down the road and keep them engaged.

I disagree. SEO is where he should start and then tweak the site if it isn't converting. When his ratio looks good he can start looking into buying traffic.

      My 2 cents

Want immediate targeted traffic - then it is ppc traffic

Seo - I would not shy away from seo, you could buy an aged domain name, that could help rank you faster. It is a slower method, but still something you should do on your site with targeted low competitive keywords to bring in at least some traffic, and adding engaging, valuable, entertaining content to create some link baits and some potential viral monsters.

In time it will start ranking for several keywords, but it should not be your primary focus if you are an affiliate marketer, you are better off with solo ads or ppc traffic or something is more immediate then seo . Now if you have a local offline business , now this is another story , you better do it because it is much easier to rank for local seo then nationwide seo ( The key is, how you use seo to your advantage period, we are not talking just about your site being seo'd )
