Do Micro Niche Sites Still Work(Amazon)

Hi all I was wondering if highly targeted micro niche sites still work promoting amazon products. What I'm wanting to do is promote a 1 product specific on a platform like blog spot. I've been digging into keyword research and have found product specific keywords(product name review/reviews that gets at least 100 exact searches/month(some get 30-500) and the competition looks is light.

When I do keyword/competition research I am seeing blog spots, squidoo lenses, hub pages etc in the SERP's.

Any thoughts?

  • Yes they still work, but if you're going to do this I would register your own domain and build the site on this. It gives you full control on the site including the option to sell it in the future.

With a good .com, .org or .net you'll outrank those Web 2.0s.

    Hope this helps.

    • Thanks. What's your opinion on multiple micro niche sites within the same niche?
  • Yes they are still working. But G is very picky these days. We still need useful content to certain extend.
  • They sure do still work, you just have to be aware of making sure you rank them the correct way, as you know our good friend Google, can take that all away from you very quickly!
  • ok, maybe they still work; but do you really want to be at the end of the Google yo-yo string?

    • one good point. need a twist if we intend for long term.
  • they do work:
my biggest factor is when you google the keyword in quotes and see results:
that should be very low...15000 results or lower and they will rank
  • Yes they work. And probably always will to some extent. I have a few sites that get nothing but long tail traffic and they do ok.
