Forget about submitting your articles to article directories....

Start seeking out syndication partners, and you'll get a much bigger 'traffic bang' for your efforts

Look, if you google "article submission sites" It will show up a lot of sites and ezine articles will be one of them.
But I wouldn't recommend you to give them your article because they have the unique content rule for your articles, that means you cannot give your article(s) to more then one site, they will have a full control of your articles.
Instead like our co-league said, look for partnership in article syndication because this way you won't have to worry about the unique content rule anymore and you'll get 10x traffic as oppose to an article directory alone.
Just a little heads up for you before you do anything.
    Best success.

You submit to EzineArticles first. Once your article is approved and published, you then submit elsewhere. That's how it's done. There will be no other content of the sort online when they screen it. Remember, Ezine publishers go to EZA to find articles to republish and are allowed to do so providing they include author's signature. That's what EZA is about.

Ezine has always been number one, but if its for traffic or links, why not also try Press Releases - they can get you good rankings, especially the paid ones.

Besides EzineArticles, I like to use GoArticles. ArticleSlash.net and ArticlesFactory are also good directories that offer nofollow links.

But who knows if article directories really work anymore in terms of helping with SEO and PR? I still use them to get traffic, though.

I've tried and used a lot of these and if Traffic is what you're going for, places like Ezinearticles is a waste of your time.

Try (without self promoting) Reddit.com and Quora.com - just make sure you're helpful and contributing more than just a link to your articles. I literally get more traffic from Reddit OR Quora than every other method listed in this thread. But as mentioned earlier, syndication or major news sites would be best. An article in the HuffingtonPost or Digg front page would crash most servers

But if you're going for SEO, ignore what I said above and submit to every place listed in this thread. Share your article with friends, ask them to share. Join conversations. If you have a budget and you're into this type of thing: Google "article spinning".

I'm so sorry to see that this thread from a few months ago has been bumped, yet again, today.

Call me churlish but some of the misinformation and misguided advice in it is so bad that, even by the standards of "Warrior Forum threads discussing article submission", it's particularly unhelpful.

For publishing articles, the first and foremost place, of course, should always be your own site (and nowhere else until they've been published and indexed there).

After that, anywhere that's specifically relevant to the subject of your niche, so that you can attract targeted traffic from the readers/visitors of those sites.

Suggestions on "how to find those sites" are here.

And some suggestions on "how to ask them to publish your article/post" are here.

(It's very much less important, of course, but even the backlinks from those context-relevant sites are also worth something to your site, just because of their relevance - Google values that. But of course all you can ever get from Google is "search engine traffic", which tends to be of limited value and is often temporary, too).

Don't forget ezines, as well as websites. Their traffic can often be highly targeted and responsive, and their subscribers pretty attentive.

(No - "ezines" are not the same thing as "article directories"!).

Also, offline sources (magazines, even newspapers) commonly re-publish articles, and these can produce real floods of traffic (acceptance is generally more difficult, and there's more work involved and a bigger learning-curve, but the benefits can really be dramatic!).

After that, it's also worth mentioning Ezine Articles. That isn't an ezine: it's the web's best-known article directory, and can be used as a way of achieving some additional, "passive syndication", i.e. when publishers look there for content to re-publish (that being the purpose of article directories). It's only a minor afterthought, compared with everything mentioned above, but it can sometimes be a good and helpful afterthought. (I submit all my articles there - after they've been extensively published elsewhere, of course - and I do sometimes benefit from it, a little. It's free, anyway. But don't imagine that publishing articles yourself and then putting the additional copy in Ezine Articles is "doing article marketing": it isn't, at all).

In contrast, it's not worth mentioning any other article directories, and for all the reasons explained in this post, no article marketer would want their potential customer traffic coming to their sites via an article directory anyway: that isn't how article directories work, isn't what they're intended for, and isn't a benefit they can provide, either. This thread explains how to use them: http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ml#post5068872

Very last on the list, and the "lowest of the low" are probably "Web 2.0 sites", which tend to come with all sorts of problems and disadvantages for article marketers, and very few (if any) additional benefits, for all the kinds of reasons explained here.

The rule of thumb (and it's a pretty good and valid one) is that anywhere where you can just "submit your own content" without any sort of editiorial approval/acceptance process probably isn't going to be of any real benefit to you.

Here are a few other threads (some of them quite helpful) which include a big mixture of comments on the subject of "where to submit articles" ...

I found there are many people give many site name. But I think these all site are not good. In this case you need to check sites by submitting your article. some site does not approve one article even 20-25 days, though they tell, that the article will be approved or, disapprove within a week.

Ezine articles appeared as examples of unnatural links in google webmaster tools manual penalties, and most of the other article directories are even worse, so i would suggest staying away from article marketing.

If you are looking for some sort of content distribution, guest blogging seems to be working much better. It's more work, and the article quality needs to be higher, but it's more effective.
