Web-site Stopped Making Sales? Do This to Revive it Now!

One of my sites used to make a sale every other day and then one day: Nada!

After 4 weeks I noticed the lack of sales and changed the redirect link to the new one offered by Clickbank (HopLink Shield).

Now it's been 4 days and the site is making sales again!

Can anyone else verify the reasoning for this? Coincidence or legit?

What is "Hoplink Shield'? Is this the new hop link format?

Yes it is legit and it will work in my opinion.

    the difference is here:

    Before
    Code:
    hxxp://xxxxx.fapturbo.hop.clickbank.net
    Now
    Code:
    hxxp://2ad1c9p8x5x31cxag9wt32ro8u.hop.clickbank.net/
BTW this is not my product LOL just the first one I found to show the difference.

But I don't understand how by just jumbling the affiliate name solves anything.... Is not affiliate commissions based on cookies anyways, and not really the ending hop?

Yeah, why would it make a difference to sales?

The "Hoplink Shield" encrypts the affiliate and vendor ids in HopLinks.

It can help in two situations:
      1. There are some malware that targets ClickBank HopLinks and it works like this:
      a) User clicks a CB HopLink
      b) Malware identifies the CB HopLink and changes the CB affiliate ID to another one (one that is used by the creators of the malware)
      c) Affiliate does not receive commissions but the malware creators receives them

So, using the "Hoplink Shield" helps because there's no info about the Affiliate/Vendor IDs and the malware cannot (yet) identify this.

      2. It can also potentially avoid people stealing commissions, because it's a little more difficult to get the vendor id.

So, this could be a coincidence or very legit.

It seems it worked for the OP and that's great

Admitted they could improve this by getting rid of the 'hop' but don't forget that we have the knowledge of what that means, many, many people do not know.

I also believe that CB have been at this a long long time and would not put this in place if it was not going to make a difference?

Split testing would be the only way to know for sure but I am happy with the changes.

I don't know what happened, all I know is what solved it so if you USED to make sales already and then all of a sudden saw them disappear, try what I described and see if it helps.

I sent an email to the merchant demanding an explanation, because Nothing changed on my side, but I'm yet to receive a response.

Will keep you posted if I hear something new

That's the thing, I have already had my suspicions due to the fact that my sales seem to fluctuate in an odd way. Making a couple sales a day for 4-5 days a in a row then all the sudden no sales for 2 weeks followed by 4-5 days of 2-3 sales a day just seems way too odd.

Thing is my niche people are pretty computer savy so I am more afraid that a big long ugly looking CB hop may scare off potential buyers. Then of course you have the fact that I have to change all of my links.

I just really want to know specifically how the hoplink shield will help me. I guess that malware point makes sense, but obviously they will crack it soon enough.

I suspect that it was some kind of a cookie problem, since my previous link was a .PHP redirect.

In your case if the sales flactuate then I think you're fine, it should only concern people who are seeing 0 sales for a very long time (more than 4 weeks). What about the number of hops? Did your hops per sale change dramatically?
