Definitely brandable these days, unless you're doing a real churn-n-burn project (or you're able to make it BOTH brandable and keyword rich).

Defiantly brand your business, why spend so much time and effort building thousands of little sites that make you a few bucks each when you could use that same effort to build a real business success story.

The way internet is moving, branded approach is preferable and accepted in everywhere (online and offline)

I have used both branded and keyword approach and I found that when I use branded approach, I get trust which is a valuable thing.

Keyword approach just makes the domain longer, hard to memorize and type, and hard to make a logo of it.

In my own site I have done a hybrid approach. Both Brand and Keyword is present. See: THUNDER MONEY -here Thunder is the action and Money is the keyword.

If your goal is to make money online, then i suggest you to use keyword based domain because keyword based domain can be brought to Google first page ranking easily whether it is too difficult for brandable domain.

    Thanks

You are all assuming that the choice has to be one or the other. If you get a little creative you can have both a keyword and brandable domain name in one.

Really, all brandable means is that it's a memorable name, easy to remember and type into a search bar, and something that differentiates your business from others in the niche.

Many short two word domains (including one of those words being a keyword) can fit the bill.

In my opinion, you're selling yourself short if you resort to some funky made up one word domain that you think is brandable. What you're not taking into account is that these kind of names must be heavily advertised and marketed to ever get traction - no different than keyword names.

Here's an example of what I'm talking about: let's say you're a steak lover and you want to talk about all the great ways to shop for, prepare, cook, and serve great steak.

So you go to Impossibility and Lean Domain Search and in less than one minute, you find the following names, all are dot com and all are available right now
        • SteakStar
        • SteakMagic
        • SteakPortal
        • CoolSteak
These are all great dot com names that are available - they have keywords in them and they can all be branded to differentiate your business from others in the same niche.

Brandable vs. keyword . . . these terms don't have to be mutually exclusive when it comes to finding a great dot com domain if you just use your brain and get a little creative.

The best to all of you.

@Steve B makes a great point. Personally, I would try to pick a domain name that was a combination of both.
