Hello there,
Can you help me understand this puzzle??
Do all article directories out there require unique content to be published???
I've written a pretty good 700+ article and I'm ready to submit and post it online.
Can I give my article to multiple directories, websites, blogs and posts without being turned down for doing it so???
I don't know where the unique content rule applies here.

Please, I need your help.

I know it's a couple of years old, but here is a pretty good thread for the Forum.

      Thanks man!
This is really helpful information to me as a newbie.
I couldn't believe all the myths and true about what exactly is duplicate content.
It is true that we've been mislead about this matter and stopped from ever moving on with our articles.
I was afraid to start submitting because I thought if google sees my articles somewhere else I'll be punish by taking down my site entirely.
      Again, thank you so much.
You can't believe how I jumped and start running through the apartment after reading all the thread and also the video from one of the google engineer clarifying all of that and corroborating the thread.

Duplicate content actually has nothing to do with the same article being across multiple websites - that's syndicated content. Duplicate content is when you have duplicate pages on the same website.

Good thread. I would pay special attention to post #6. Even though Alexa isn't around much anymore, you could learn a lot from her. Read her posts, follow the links, take notes, get a good education. Success will follow. (miss you Alexa)

If you're trying to rank in google with SEO, that's when unique content applies. It's mostly a problem when people copy and paste articles they didn't write.

Since you've written that 700+ word articles yourself, you should have no problem submitting it everywhere you can.

You do want to submit your articles to a few directories. That way you have more backlinks.

    slopez,

I'm not sure that such a rule ever existed. Who makes the "rules" for the Internet? Certainly not Al Gore.

I think you will find that each article directory has their own set of guidelines and terms of use. Some won't accept anything but unique content - many others don't require it.

There are no Internet police that are going to shut down your web site if you post the same content in multiple places.

The question to ask is . . . is it worth the time and effort to post the same content in multiple directories?

Only you can determine the answer through your testing and tracking.

    Good luck to you,

    Steve
