Autoblogging anyone?

Do you have any autoblogs?

If so, how do you monetize?

    I have over 1,000 of them but not traditional autoblogs.

    Learning how to monetize these things is a pretty closely guarded secret that you probably won't find out in the open on public forums. I've hinted at it over on the SEO Forum, but...

    Well I'm just going to put it to you this way....

    Unless you decide to spend thousands of dollars and years committing yourself to it - you're probably going to fail with autoblogging. I'm not trying to minimize you or your efforts - but there is a reason that so many people (99.9%) have failed with autoblogs. It's not as easy as just throwing up an adsense ad or sticking an Amazon product widget someplace.

    That having been said, if you do happen to get it right or find a BH mentor to show you the way (not me, don't ask) four-and-five figure days are within reach once you have the capacity to operate at scale.

    If you are even considering this still, you're going to need to learn exactly how content production works and how to avoid having people actually land on your autoblog at all. Following that you will need to source out an IP farm that you can use as well as a means to manage server resources (forget wordpress ASAP.) In other words, welcome to Blackhat... Just to get the right software to do this costs over $3k.

    I'm trying to ride a fine line here between strongly cautioning you against it while also being honest and telling you that it is completely possible to make it work and be extremely profitable. There's just a HUGE gap you would need to jump in terms of knowledge and experience to get there from scratch.

    I tried my hand at autoblogging about 2 years ago and failed miserably. I was slowly gaining traffic, but Google must have stepped in, cause traffic went straight to zilch all of sudden. Never had a chance to monetize. I was using wprobot

    I ran over 30+ autoblogs a few years back and only made pennies on them thanks to google.

    It was a lot of fun *not* renewing those keyword domain names!

    Auto blogs are a waste of time, I learned it the hard way. If you want to retain traffic from google you NEED compelling unique content. But dont get me wrong it can work in some markets. If your looking to monetize traffic - go to CJ.com its the best the have offers in every market. Google adsense is GREAT but it can be very difficult to get approved sometimes a great alternative is infolinks.com

        Nope and Nope.

        I tried infolinks after my adsense account was banned and didn't even earn fractions of pennies.

        Avoid copyrighted content as much as possible.

    Not so simple and easy. Tried years back and also failed doing it the traditional way. Nowadays, anything that brings in cash passively online (we're talking 4 hr work week here) I consider "autoblogging" and there's plenty of ways to do that. Expand your thinking a bit

      I think the time of setting up an autoblog, setting up some monetization methods on them and hoping to make some money without lifting a finger is over.

      The hardest part is definately getting traffic to these blogs, as they most probably won't rank in google. Perhaps creating social media pages and driving traffic from there could work?

        Actually with the advent of Hummingbird and how Google now breaks down a page's content into portions (which is how they algorithmically determine theme and relevancy to a query) it's much easier to rank an 'autoblog' with truly 'unique' content.

        I would even go so far to say that getting traffic to and through these automatically generated domains is now one of the easiest parts of the operation.

        In fact, an autoblog put on an aged domain can begin pulling in 300-1000 unique visitors within a day or two of initial creation when properly assembled.

        I would of course want to very clearly state that if the content was reproduced material, or weakly 'spun' material then no - you are absolutely correct in that sense. They will not rank and they will not pull much traffic out of the SE's.

        Sadly, this is where many people fail with autoblogs and when they do manage to get beyond this sticking point - there is still monetization to worry about if they just plan on sticking a banner ad up or something along those lines.

        None the less, I thought it was worth pointing out that Hummingbird effectively gave a rebirth to machine assembled content. That's always been the danger for Google is establishing a algorithmic process to processing content.

        Once the processing is understood, a system can be (and has been) put into place to assemble material in such a way as to manipulate the results of Google's internal breakdown process.

        The content assembly I'm referring to does continue to be something far out of reach of your average wordpress plugin or something with limited processing resources to produce in mass and on the fly however. There are too many variables and the content assembly itself requires it's own algorithm to match Google's processing algorithm.

        Edit In: Noted you have "IM Automation Software" under your name. Sounds like this might be a fun project for you at some point in the future.
