Selling Information Products Securely

I'd like to apologize in advance if I am repeating a common thread, but in my search for the best possible answer, I decided to simply post my question directly.

In looking at the sales process for an information product, let's say a training video, what is the best platform to offer a secure download area?

I have no problem with the mechanics of using PayPal, but once the sale has been completed, and the customer is redirected to a thank page/download page, my concern is people bookmarking, broadcasting, or abusing that link.

This would be a basic setup to begin with, so there would be no involvement with affiliates, or other parties offering the product for sale. I don't need too many bells and whistles. I don't want to overcomplicate things.

My gut tells me to use a service such as E-Junkie, in order to streamline the process. I certainly don't want to reinvent the wheel. As much as I could cobble something together on my own, I would imagine that will only cause me headaches right out of the gate.

I also notice that many marketers store their products using Amazon Web Services. Thoughts on that?

Again, sorry if I am beating a dead horse. I just want to get things done the right way.

    Hi there! e-junkie is a cool choice for this type of site since they encrypt the download links.

    Another option could be password protecting the content inside a membership area. Means you need to setup a membership site.

    I host some of my videos on Amazon web service but the URL's are public if I want to show it to my customer. Then there are paid plugins that will encrypt amazon links if you want to protect that.

      Exactly, what i would just suggest is protecting your download pages.

      For the rest people will always find a way to share your products, that's something you can't control, and if you can't control it you shoudln't worry about it too much.

    There are more important things in business than to worry about freeloaders and thief's. Just get on with it. What's the worst that can happen? People are always worried about shit that doesn't matter, and as a result they dilly-dally rather than just getting their products out to the market.

    My advice for what it's worth: Get it out there and worry about it later. You may even find that people couldn't be bothered sharing your stuff. One or two... maybe, but hey, sleepless nights you will not have

      I really appreciate the input, folks. I think it was exactly what I needed to hear. Stop overcomplicating things, and get with it. And yes, what the hell am I really worried about?

        That's actually quite funny.

        I've used DLGuard, E-Junkie, and several other methods of protecting my download links. Honestly, if someone wants to share your product, there is nothing you can do to stop them from doing so.

        I wouldn't worry too much about it. Just get your product out there.

    I use DL Guard. Best purchase of software I've ever made. Perfect for all of your products. Processes the payment and then delivers the product with an expiring url. You can ban customers by email or IP for serial refunders. You can use it for as many products as you want. There's no limit.
