Sometimes it does fail if you know what you are doing. Don't be afraid of failure because it will happen in the world of IM.

Fact is, you fail more than you succeed - especially at the beginning... And that's not just internet marketing but life in general.

Recently, I worked on a project but Google slapped it. I could of wrote it off as a failed project but instead I learned why Google did what they did and re-did the campaign.

Long story short, it turned in a very profitable campaign but for it to be a success, I needed to fail, then learn from it... That was the only way to succeed.

So yeah, embrace failure... You'll learn some of your best lessons failing

Google is master at failing except you never hear about their failed projects, you just hear about the winners.

Yes, as James said, you fail a ton, more than the successful ones... but many times, the successful ones GO BIG.

We probably do 3 to 5 "failed" campaigns before we run into a winner, which pays for the failures and then some.

For beginners, it could happen where you follow a plan, you take action and you run into a winner the first time out. It does happen. I've seen it with people I've coached. But it's rare.

Expect that your first few times is the "gathering data" stage. Because that's truly what it is... gathering data.

Once you've got that data, then you optimize and your next campaign gets better, and the next, and the next and the next.

    Enjoy the process!

    It depends.

    test-> fail-> optimize->test-> fail->optimize->......... success.

Nothing wrong with failing. You learn something new and know what not do do again. Valuable lessons are learnt.

Every successful business person will have had some sort of failure in their business life.

I'm willing to bet the percentage is a lot higher then restaurants that fail. however much Less investment, so you can ratchet up the failures and learning curve a lot quicker.

There's a great speech by JK Rowling on The Fringe Benefits of Failure - "It is impossible to live without failing at something unless you live so cautiously that you might as well not have lived at all, in which case you've failed by default." In answer to your question, I've heard that 97% fail from a number of "gurus" - I don't know what the source of that information is though or how you could ever accurately measure it.

If you're talking about internet marketing campaigns, like PPC, Ads, email marketing, SEO, etc. those things cost money and immediately give you an advantage over the guy that doesn't spend money. I would say maybe half fail at first, if you're doing facebook ads for example, or using adwords, you can easily turn a failing campaign into a successful one.

Now... if you're talking about internet marketing in general, as in, making money online... I would say less than 1% succeed.

What's life without ups and downs, you have to fail in order to succeed. It's the lesson i was taught a long time ago, you have to embrace your failures as lessons and try again taking in consideration what you did before.

All in all, it doesn't matter how many times you fail. you have to step up your game and don't be dissapointed.

"Fail" is a pretty broad term and everyone defines it differently.

For someone just starting out in IM, making their first $100 in a month might be a huge success for them. But making only $100 in a month might be considered a failure to a more experienced IMer.

I think it depends on the person and what their goals are. Failure for one person might be success for another.

      Hello Warriors

wow, thanksa lot for so many answers i was not expecting so much replies
thanks for the words, I have to be honest and yes, most of time I am afraid to fail but like most of you say it is part of the process

it is curious because the real reason why I am asking is because I am about to offer Internet marketing services to offline business (like many warrios do) but I wanted to add in the presentation that "xx% of campaigns fail because people dont know what they do" or "only 5% of the internet marketing campaigns become profitable"

the point here is to show them why they need my services rather than worrying too much for failure

anyway being honest fear to failure is still something that I need to overcome

still... any of you know an average number of guys that fail trying to do IM?
i saw the posts on above saying that 97% or 99% fail... i was not aware that the number can be so big... or are they just exagerating

my main point is just to add a number to my presentation and say " aprox 90% of the guys that try marketing campaigns onine fail, so you need me because I have much more chances of making your campaign succeed" (or something like that, its just to explain what i want to say

This is a silly question. One which was made with no thought at all. How can anyone know in general how many campaigns fail? Do you think that marketers all report to each other or something? Do you think there is a big book somewhere where we all record or income stats so everyone else can see it and compare? Nope there isnt. As such no one can intelligently speak about IM campaign success in general because no one knows what the other guys are doing, at least nor more than the other guys choose to tell, and no one talks about their failures.

However you can infer some info. Obviously since people make money doing this, more money is brought in than goes out. As such regardless of the % of failure if done correctly there is surplus revenue for profit, which is really all that matters, that something over all is profitable.

hey brutecky I am not sure if you saw my post above yours but I am looking for stadistics, i guess there is no big book but I am sure people is aware that xx% of people try a marketing campaign and fail at least an average... I got 2 answers that show an average of the answer and I am confident that somebody might know a pretty close answer to that

to make it simple: In a cpa network managers can see how many people is making money and how many people is loosing money, period. is just as simple as that I dont care if 10% fail or 99% fail, I am not looking for motivation and I am sure many people spend a lot of time trying to make the campaign work and it simply doesnt, why? I dont know, but if this was easy nobody on the forum will be asking questions about conversions or platforms or even selling ebooks (or products explaining how to make good campaigns)

anyway... not trying to be rude, or at least not the main objective just dont like to be called silly, and I am still trying to get an answer
