If it is something that will be popular you could put some info about it up saying coming soon and have an email submit and start collecting emails to be notified of your launch.

This is something you should do. Just make sure to put a email notification system where people can add their email and then they'll be notified when the site eventually opens. I wouldn't wait, better to get an audience built up.

Absolutely. Get the site up. Get the SEO setup on the index page. Put some sales copy up and include an area for people to submit for updates and launch news. Once you start your list and if you are feeling crazy, send your list a survey about what they want or expect from your product.

This will give you a way to tweak your product before you even launch it.

This all depends on how you plan to proceed with your product launch. Are you going to run a JV contest? Are you planning to gather a bunch of affiliates to promote your offer? What network are you going to host your program on (if you do indeed decide to have a program)?

If you know what your info book will cover, then you can at least draft up some copy for the website itself. Then you can add to the copy as time goes on, and you'll eventually have all of the information you need.

That's pretty much how I go about creating a website for my products. I will write up all of my ideas and stuff for the sales page / website itself, and all of the copy I THINK I will need. Then when it comes time to actually designing the site, I can pick and choose, modify copy, and so on.

But like I mentioned before, you need to know what your end game will be with this product and how it will be launched.

If you do decide to create a website, and depending on how popular your niche or market is and how popular you intend for your product to be - you can always create some sort of a teaser graphic of "splash page" for the website. And also put an opt in form on there to capture leads of visitors that may be interested come launch time.

Hopefully this helps you out! If you have any other questions, don't hesitate to inbox me on here.

you should get your site up as soon as you can to allow the natural indexing in search engines to be done early. Google don't index you immediately so the quicker you get your site up the better

Yes get your site up, if you plan to have jv partners or affiliates they need to see something about your product in advance.

Making a website isn't so easy
It's so easy a child can do it. Wordpress is so easy to use it almost builds the site for you.

YES! As a wise man once told me, "Don't get it perfect. Just get it going." By the time your site is indexed, you'll be able to "finish" it.

That being said, my humble opinion is it depends how you plan to market it. You don't want to send solo ad traffic to an unfinished site.

If you're looking for organic search engine traffic (and you're planning on completing the site fairly soon), I don't see any reason why you can't get yourself online right way.

      Good luck.

This is wise, I am still building my site and getting wild and wonderfull technical stuff resolved, but decided to go to market before my site is perfect. I already have sign ups (do not want to bore you with the details).

So returns will follow earlier, I also see with the early sign ups where the issues are with my site an affiliate systems, so that I can get these fixed before the whole launch / promotion bit.

        Just thought to say.

    Yep. launch soon.
If you have a blog that will help too.

I recommend having in most cases one main site where you'll have
    site/products/product1
    site/products/product2
    site/products/product3

if the product and stands on its own then create a site for it.

I want to start an infoprenerism business. The product i am working on right now is a video series on how to overcome depression and anxiety.

Eventually, I hope to be able to have back-end products to sell if my list demands it. (Social-anxiety/Sexual-anxiety/Recurring major depression/ ect.)

I am planing to do a long term main site.

I'd say get the website up and have/write some articles, or blog etc. You would want to start building a relationship wiith those targetted people (the depressed and the anxious) who are likely to buy products from you once they get to know you. (Know, like and trust)

Get your site up and start getting some readers. Build authority, build your e-mail list. Then when your info product is ready you already have an audience. And when you market your info product to others you can point back to your authority site so they know you're legit.

Of course your site is your brand and your way to share valuable content with your customers. Besides you can review your own product on your blog or can share insides and advantages of it.

Start your website. You will feel really good once you get it out of the way. Whether you decide to market your website or not is up to you, but there is no reason to postpone the actual creation of the website because your product is not done.

I can testify from personal experience not only the importance of starting a website before your product launches, but making sure that you're blogging consistently beforehand. If you do not, you will launch to the sound of crickets and be way behind in terms of acquiring that traffic.

Well, you cannot finalize the website before finalizing the product because the product details/features may change and you may have to modify your website. But it is definitely good to start the website as you are building the product. You can start giving info about your upcoming product, put a sign up form to send notifications to those who are interested and start marketing your product by marketing your website.

Yes, you should finish up your info product before you even get your front end website up and running for prospects to see. That would make the most sense.

You don't want people to buy from you and not be able to get the FULL version of your info product.

You can create the sales copy for it, but you will need the contents of your book handy when it comes to writing/listing the bullet points. But get the product done first. Make it easy for yourself.

Get a 1.0 version out there as soon as possible. Then gauge interest and incorporate what you learn into version 2.0.

I started my last software business by rushing out a 1.0, and once somebody bought a copy I knew I was onto something good.

You can create the website first. Create an opt-in where people who are interested can sign up to be notified. And then email them once your info product is done.

I think you should definitely start your website first.

Yes, if you want. Because you can have a simple opt-in and build a list first. When you launch, you can at least have a group of people who might be interested in your product.

You are hitting two birds with one stone when launching website before launching your actual product. First of all you get advantages in SEO, since aged domains are treated better plus you will start getting organic traffic.

Another point is starting your marketing with the launch of your website. You may update your website with related content about your product or niche, provide your own expertise or share experience. You may also want to show the life cycle of your product from scratches and development to the moment of launch. You may play with users anticipation and build early bird list.

So actually you should start developing your product with creating its home page.

I recommend putting your sales letter up before you start your product. The sales copy is always a work in progress. but the biggest advantage of doing the sales letter firs is that you can then design and build your product to live up to all the claims and benefits you spout in the sales letter.

When I get a product idea, I always usually start the sales letter first. It will help you focus much more in the product creation. When you have delivered everything you explained in the sales letter add more to the product to over deliver.

If you can't live up to the sales letter then you have to remove the parts that are not truthful and then decide if you would buy your product.

It will also help improve your sales letter as you work on your product.

I hope this has been helpful,

Getting some sort of pre-launch website up and running will have the SEO advantages listed in some of the replys above, but will also allow you to gauge the potential response of your audience, and any tweaks to both the sales campaign and the product itself that may be necessary prior to full-on public launch.

    Hope it goes well.

I honestly think it could be handy to use it as a bit of a countdown. Write blog posts about how its on the way, etc. If you set up some really top notch blog posts with great information you can get people on your mailing list and build up anticipation before the launch.

Yes you should start your website (if you haven't already done so)

start driving the traffic. The traffic is where you make the money, not necessarily the
    info product.
