Aweber Follow-Up Sequences

Hi Warriors

I've been very stupid in the last few weeks. I've been building quite a substantial list of buyers in a new list in my Aweber account, but due to other commitments (such as university exams) I haven't had time to create a follow up sequence for these buyers.

I've got a list of nearly 500 now collected in the last 2 months and the only emails they've been receiving are my broadcast emails.

I want to set up a follow-up sequence for all new subscribers, but I also want the sequence delivered to existing members with the same number of days between each message as specified.

So, for example, I want to add a follow-up message to go out 2 days after people subscribe, but I also want that email to go out to all existing subscribers 2 days from now.

I then want to add a message that goes out 5 days after someone subscribes, but I also want it to go out to existing subscibers 5 days from now.

I hope that makes sense?

I've seen marketers have nightmares when adding a follow up sequence to an existing list where all the emails are delivered to all subscribers at the same time and I don't want to risk doing that to 500 buyers who could prove to be worth thousands of dollars for many months to come.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
James

    HI James,

Contact Aweber chat support and they will walk you through the whole thing. I wanted to do something similar and they helped me to figure it out. Very helpful folks.

I think there is a feature where you can determine
which date and which hour you want to publish.

Maybe that's the essential feature for an autoresponder.
I am familiar with Getresponse only.

    James,

I don't think you can do the follow up with existing subscribers. They are set up in the follow up section and time to go from there. Probably you need to set up some broadcasts for you existing subscribers, but then they will be picked up for sign ups that come in after that.

Maybe Aweber has a solution for this.

    Thanks,

    John

GetResponse has the capability to restart a series for existing subscribers that either were not getting the series because it was added later or restart a series that has finished.

I am sure Aweber has a similar feature.

James, I just want to know your secret to getting 500 optins in 2 months in one niche. That is the average for me for all of my sites. What is your secret. Do you mind sharing the domain name so I can study your work?

The secret to 500 in 2 months?

Let's say he has a relatively poor opt-in rate of 20%.

So 1 in 5 visitors becomes a subscriber.

That means to get 500 subscribers you need just 2500 visitors in 2 months... 1250 a month... 42 visitors a day.

So the "secret" is have a half decent opt-in page and get a handful of visitors to it each day.

      Thanks everyone for your responses.

I'll get onto Aweber about it.

      Hi Will

There's not many secrets. It's just a game of numbers like Kyle said above.

This is actually a list of buyers, meaning that everyone on this list has paid $10 and then they are automatically added to the customers only list.

I pay JV partners 100% commission on the product so I can secure many JVs. My conversions when JV partners promote is between 8%-11% - so with the high visitor value I can easily secure large JVs.

PM me if you would like to see the site.

James, this is easy to do. I contacted Aweber about something similar a while ago and this was their response.

Yes, however you will need to change the subscribers
message number to start the messages. Click on the
subscribers tab then click on the search button
in the middle of the page to bring up all subscribers.
Any subscribers who has a 1001 in "Mes Column" needs to
be changed to a zero. Then click on the save button.
Once they are changed to message 0 then the autoresponder
will start to go out within the next 24 hours.
So basically, create your follow up sequence, then go to your list of subscribers and make sure in the "Mes Column" next to each subscriber there is a zero.

Pat is right. I have set up some follow ups with my list and had questions regarding sequence. Aweber support is great. I have also set up a test list like David suggested to help work out my messages and see how they look. If you have the time Aweber also offers webinars, they are about an hour but I thought it was helpful.
