Which Internet Marketer(s) Do You Look Up To, and Why?

I know there are a lot of gurus and self-proclaimed gurus out there... I'm curious, who do you look up to/admire and why?

Jim Rohn - love the guy!

He is responsible for SO much of my success in business, or at least his teachings helped me.

Internet Marketing I love Frank Kern's stuff - I know some people are not a fan but speaking from experience of using his products I can say it has worked for me and lead to some of my largest paydays!

Brian Tracy is another one of my favs - I know i have only got one Internet Marketer in there - technically, although Brian is now on the scene!

Honestly, the owners of some of the companies I have branded and the people in forums like these. I really look for great qualities in people and IMer's are some of the hardest working people around.

He lives in a cabin in the woods in Northern Minnesota. Some say he's quite insane...others call him a genius. He's helped me make boatloads of cash!

I've said this before... people are often referred to as gurus because other people refer to them as gurus. It's self-fulfilling. Some people are worth listening to, and I know a lot of people have learnt a lot from Frank Kern and the like. Personally I learn a lot from Jay Abraham, but he's predominantly an offline guy (not an "internet marketing guru").

If you want to be successful in internet marketing, I think it's important to gather knowledge from a diverse selection of people and mentors through books, articles, videos, interviews and so on. It's narrow think 'if I want to make money in IM, I need to listen to "IM gurus"'. Business is business, whether it's on the internet or not.

You know, the actual internet marketing part of this business is incredibly straightforward... find a demographic, give them what they want and incentivise them to stick around, so you can keep giving them more of what they want. Once you make your first few thousands, you gain momentum and the pieces come together.

I think it's better to look up to people outside of IM... read best-selling books on human psychology and understand how the mind works... improve your verbal and written communication skills... study the great business leaders of our time and of the previous generations... read between the lines and analyse their growth strategies... build a holistic knowledge base and don't just focus on how to build lists.

Sorry, I'm blabbering. Back to work.
