Tackling The Weight Loss Market. Which Business Model Seems Better?
Notice I said MARKET, because that's exactly what "weight loss" is.
Here are my ideas...
First, I need to find a niche within this HUGE market and focus on it. I'm thinking of things like: weight loss for dads, weight loss for moms, weight loss for new moms, etc.
Then I'm thinking of doing one of these two business models to capitalize on it. I'd love to know your thoughts...
1. LIST BUILDING ONLY
This will be a very dead simple business model. It'll be a simple squeeze page or reverse squeeze page (to focus on high quality leads) to offer daily or weekly (M,W,F only) weight loss tips via email only. Full of personality and wit. Not too lengthy, but helpful. And of course, mix in various offers, etc along the way. I LOVE the way TheSkimm.com does their daily news for women. Something similar, but it would focus in this market niche specifically.
**PROS: No need to setup a huge content website. Easy to get started. Simple business model. Can be fully automated, only focus would be on tweaking it for conversions and marketing.
**CONS: Since it's not a content site, you lose out on potential referral traffic from SEO, etc.
2. CONTENT WEBSITE
This will be more involved. This would be your typical "hub" website similar to SurvivalLife.com. Full of articles and offers. I'm thinking of taking quality PLR, and re-working it to make sure the content is good overall.
**PROS: Could be seen as an authority with all the content, chance for a lot of sales with solid traffic, etc.
**CONS: Time consuming to setup. LOTS of sites like this already, might be tough to compete as well as keep up building content for it along with marketing. Not automated.
Anyway, that's my thinking and approach currently. I would do all of this under a pen name, etc. as well. Anything I'm missing or not thinking of?
