Ahh!! Ziillion Membership site plugins What a decision!

Hi, :confused:
I need a membership site up and running. Ive installed about 20 wordpress sites and bought membersnap.com about 2 years ago but never carried on with it cause I got stuck on the video uploading and security.
Ive read some threads and blog comments here and there about membership plugins for the last 2 weeks. I need to make a decision at the latest next monday 12 of May.

This is an almost ZERO budget project cause its for a Brazilian non profit. Im ARgentinian helping them on the launch of the product and the membership site. Im not worried about paying some bucks more or less. What worries me is starting and then being for ages learning and doing things that I hate doing. Want to finish it in 15 days at the most. Theres only to upload 7 videos some articles and thats it. The members pay once and stay 3 months or forever on 3 different levels.

First option almost aborted:
I was going to go for DAP or digital access pass which is complex complete and awesome, but read a couple of comments that described it as too hard for a membership newbie/starter and a long learning curve. I hereby thank publicly ravijayagopal for a disscount he would give me due to the fact that the site is for a brazilian non profit. The product is in english and is going to be sold in Clickbank.

Then theres in my list; PaidMembershipPro that you end up paying 97 for support cause the plugin is free. Actually this is on my maybe list.

Then theres membersonic... Received a spam message today and read the author is a great guy and is launching this days at a very low price as a JVZoo offer ( USD 17 - but dont want to run risks with new things). And he offers a theme too.
I will go for Million Wordpress theme. Loved the features, easy to understand etc. and very simple and minimalistic.

And then theres InstaMember... For USD 47 I get all the package and bonuses..Loved the video presentation..

Please guys,
Let me know about your thoughts... Feedback is wellcome and also a helping hand for some bucks loading some videos on the site will be very welcome. :rolleyes:

S2member has a free version and is somewhat popular, check it out to see if it fits or your project. the pro version allows a few extras you might want, but its not that expensive. Some of the other systems you mention seem like a marketing scheme in themselves.

integrates with paypal, etc..

Are you sure that you actually need a membership script? If they only pay once, you might be able to use a much simpler solution.

  I actually want them to feel they belong to a comunity, they are exclusively entering a place with a course and people they wont find anywhere else.
  
  The videos are not going to be downloadable. There going to be a forum and three levels. Free they only see an introductory 90 sec video of the 7 steps and stay forever unless they pay the next membership available.
  The paid ones that access to the course but dont get the exclusive top notch tips. Membership lasts 3 months. By doing this I want them to upgrade to the top level.
  And the top level they receive all + a consultation of 60 minutes and belong there forever.
  
  I dont see any other way of doing this. But there could be another way....

  Thanks. My idea is not to keep aquiring more names and companies and plugins that offer solutions on membership site...But I had a sneak peak and all looks very user friendly and awesome videos with this funny character.... Still wont be on my list.

  Thanks Marco. Definitely an article worth reading. I learnt about MemberMouse there and since it is 2nd on my list. For its ease of use and powerfull features. For a non profit org project is ideal cause you can pay monthly.
  Definitely DAP is not for me that Im just starting and not much funds and time for its a non profit project.

I have just built a non Wordpress Membership site with EasyMember Pro and it works well.
I have also used the Fast Member plugin which also works very well.
Both allow single or recurring payments and protect the files from unauthorised downloads.
You should easily be able to set these up within 14 days.

I tried DAP because I was lured by the many features. But trying to get it to work got me so confused. I felt like my brain was melting.

So I switched over to s2member and got pro. Very happy with it because it's easy to use and understand.

I have used Wishlist member wordpress plugin with no problem. Next time I do a membership site I"m going to test the opimizemember plugin which I have as part of OptimizePress2 but haven't used the member plugin yet.
