Hey guys,

Just wondering if anyone had any recommendations for an exit pop-up.

I was looking for something that wasn't too fancy, just like an exit pop up that says "are you sure you don't wanna try XYZ?".

If you have any exit pop-ups that are fancier but convert better than i'd love to hear about them though!

Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Zach

Not one exit pop-up made me buy anything, not even change my mind of leaving a site... it's just too intrusive for me. Some of your visitors will be the same...

Some will probably be the same, but why not have them if only 1% stay. They were leaving anyway right?

I figure there's a reason almost every product has an exit pop-up. Even some blogs are starting to use them.

Just work on the content more, that will not only keep them in your site/blog, but will keep them coming back (if you want it)

Since I have been using the google chrome browser, I can't remember the last time I even received an exit popup. Do they even work anymore?

It is okay to contact me! I have been developing software since 1999, creating many popular products like phpLD.

What actually made me want to add this to my niche sites is seeing one today, and I only use Google Chrome.

You're right though I haven't seen many around since starting to use Google Chrome.

    Hey Zach

Yeah you wanna use them for sure !!

I have exit splash myself ... Works good. As for conversions Im not sure on the improvement as I have taken it off to play around with for my new project at the moment.

Not one exit pop-up made me buy anything, not even change my mind of leaving a site... it's just too intrusive for me. Some of your visitors will be the same...
But lets say your page converted at 50% .. Meaning half sign up and half leave with not. Thats half your traffic driving efforts going to waste.

Being brutal and straight .. Who cares if some dont like them .. Their leaving your site and you get nothing !!!

Why not try to capture the 'Lost' ones with another offer ??

Im pretty certain if those visitors were costing money i.e from Adwords you would want to get maximum value for your investment.

I wouldnt recommend them on a blog as your regular visitors would get peeved but an optin page or sales page 100% !!!

Zach just so you know the Exit splash software can not only be put on say a main page but if can also just be added to certain pages, I think thats pretty cool !!

    Hope that helps bro

Well, there is some truth to it, but if it's not a sales letter then I wouldn't do it. If it is a site/blog that concentrates on creating relationships with visitors, creating a community which trust the owner and buy from him because of that then this would hurt. But if it's a sales letter where you just promote a product then it might get that 1 percent.

Sorry, I think you may have been confused when I said blog.

I simply meant a word press based blog that is used as a review site. People won't be coming back to it (in 99% of cases).

Your 100% right about not doing it on blogs/websites where you are trying to build a relationship with your visitors.

So... does anyone know of an actual script that they can share? It would be much appreciated. Free is great-- I'm not planning on buying one at the moment. But I can't speak for Zach Booker on that.

    Thanks.

I ended up going with exit splash, I think it was $67.

It's simply awesome and well worth money.

I have yet to hear of any reliable free software.

      Hope this helps,

I don't know if this is what you are looking for, but I just bought this today and it seems pretty cool...

(Not Aff. link, Not my product...)

  • I think the ultimate exit ad would be the kind that has the picture of the pretty woman with a headset, but instead she continues the sales pitch while slowly undressing.

Then you have to click a tell me more link at predetermined intervals to keep her going.

Not that I endorse this idea, or even think it's good, but it would be a refreshing change

I write this because some of the people up there did not answered
    your question.

Exit Splash is a pretty nice pop up to use. Very simple and can be
customized in the way that you prefer. To answer another of your
questions...I think exit pop-up do increase conversion and you can
get this just by looking at big internet marketers. They all use exit
pop ups in a way. You really need to be a top guy like Frank Kern
    to not use one.

Now, weather you use one or not and if people don't like them...
    Who cares!!!
Your conversions should improve and thats what you are looking for.

The real answer is to test them. Annoying or not. If they bring you in more cash and more subscribers then the answer is very clear. If you're a marketer, or want to become a successful marketer... why on earth would you be offended by marketing? Test and find your real answer.
