LeadPages and LinkTrackr..... Not tracking optin conversions

Anybody using the above 2 programs? I am having real issues trying to track optin rates. I have inserted the conversion code from linktrackr into my leadpages thankyou page (page after they optin), but no conversions are showing up when I test it. I do believe it is the thankyou page that requires the code, but in any case I have also tried it on the main optin page and that does not work either.

Paying close to $80 combined for the 2 programs, simple functions like this are proving impossible. I have tried support, who linked me to a video telling me to do what I have already done.

You just have to insert the codes in the thank you page and it should track any leads that came from a Linktrackr URL. There are several types of conversion code you can use, so if one isn't working you can try another.

If you like, you can also PM me with your linktrackr username and I'll take a quick look

      Hi,

I had the same problem using ClickMeter + LeadPages.
Then I wrote to ClickMeter Support and one of their engineers told me that there is a conflict between external Javascripts and LeadPages ThankYouPage.

Fortunately ClickMeter has a secondary conversion pixel that I used and solved the issue. Now conversions are working fine.

      Here is the article
How to add conversion code in some opt-ins services (thank you page you do not own) : Support center

If you still have problem with the other tracker you can try ClickMeter For free and then purchase an upgrade eventually.

In that case you'll have to use the Pixel Code option instead of Standard Code if you wish to use it with Linktrackr

In response to the Leadpages/LinkTrackr duo, there have been some malfunctions occurring since the recent major Leadpages update. I sent in support tickets to Leadpages on two issues today. For one thing, TID tracking data is not being passed into Aweber. The other issue is, conversions not showing up into LinkTrackr.... also likely due to the update.

For me, as far as the tracking code glitch, it seems the LinkTrackr “Standard Long Conversion Code” is no longer working in Leadpages as it did prior to the recent update. I’ve replaced it with the shorter and less favorable (according to LinkTrackr) “pixel code”; and so far, reporting seems like it’s much more accurate. I’ll know for sure after a few more paid advertising campaigns finish. For now, I’d stick with the pixel code.

By the way, Kevd10, you are correct, the tracking code should be placed on the 1st page your new subscriber lands on after they opt in. I prefer to place it in the “head” in case they don’t let the page load fully. In terms of measuring conversion data of opt in pages, I really don’t care how long they are on that proceeding page, aka thank you page, as long as the conversion is picked up by LinkTrackr.

It seems replacing the pixel code only offered marginal improvements or was an all out total coincidence.

I had been suspecting SSL was the issue. I received this support email last night from Ahmad of LinkTrackr. He wrote:

“”If Leadpages is using SSL, so you also need to use SSL for conversion code.

In the conversion code or pixel, if your custom domain "xxxx.com" doesn't have SSL, just replace "xxxx.com" with "yyyy.tkr.me"

(for example, if you custom domain is customdomain.com, but your LinkTrackr general domain is yourusername.tkr.me, then just replace customdomain.com with yourusername.tkr.me)””

If you notice, when going to a leadpages url, there is the “lock” logo to the left of the url indicating they are using SSL; therefore, I understand we have to enable SSL in our tracking code. So I followed his instructions and so far it’s working great. Don’t forget to enable the SSL checkbox above your conversion code. This is great, because instead of having to spring for an SSL certificate for my custom domain, I can just leverage LinkTrackr's SSL certificate. For tracking, it makes no difference if you use your custom domain or the LinkTrackr domain.

Also, since it seems to be the preferred method, I went back to the Standard Code (the long one)

So far so good.......getting perfect conversion tracking again!
