How this website can perform so well?

Hello everybody, I found a website that targets the keywords "online guitar lessons", that, according to siteprice, has

alexarank 62000
pr 0
12 indexed pages
13.000 unique visitors a day!
8 months old...

I think it partecipates in affiliate programs and I think they are getting a lot of money....my question is: how a website 8 months old with only 12 index pages can have alexarank 62000 and 13.000 unique visitors a day? Some special white/gray/black SEO? I can't explain my self..
the site is
shredsource dot net

thank you

Yep hPgoodboy is right they are using paid traffic. When done correctly paid traffic is VASTLY superior to organic search. It's measurable, consistent and the absolute best way to expand and scale a business.

If you build a business on organic traffic one day it can all come crashing down. Has happened to many here and will happen in the future.

You are right; however, building a business on paid traffic can come crashing down just as quickly - just stop paying for traffic.

You can keep that up as long as you want.

The Alexa rank will be very nice but search engine traffic (the organic one) will be nil.
This is true but if your content is valuable, long term quality paid advertising will naturally increase organic traffic as well. I know a lot of people don't agree with this but it's my experience. If nothing else, it exposes your content to the right people that will link, discuss and share your content which in turn gains you even more exposure and the search engines attention.

It is not that hard to find out. This is a thin site built to get ranked for the product and for those anchor keywords. It is being backed by a possible link network - that should explain the good ranking.

Though there is nothing wrong in you trying to learn from what is going on here, typically the website names don't get tossed into the open. Enough interest here and the money tap stops for good

I have to do legwork since I don't have premiums tools to help. For some basic analysis you can go to https://ahrefs.com/site-explorer/ove...redsource.net/

I agree with hpgoodboy, most likely using paid marketing as well as traffic trading in some form that shot his numbers up like that. In addition, if he has affiliates promoting his site that would also drive up his traffic numbers.

It's easy to inflate your Alexa rank just by doing the above mentioned strategies.

Looks like he is also using social media from what I can tell. Of that 13,000 visitors a day as you reported, how much of that do you think is coming in via organic search?

I have 10 page static websites (not wordpress) that rank top in Google for highly competitive terms. Matter fact they outrank the company itself and wiki. It is the content that outranks the wiki and company. The proper use of keywords, semantics, related phrases and etc.

Yea, in my experience some folks believe that all they have to do is turn on the paid traffic faucet for a little while, then it can be turned off and the traffic keeps pouring in. There will always be some residual traffic I suppose, but that isn't how it has worked for me.

If you can't afford to keep the faucet turned on because your business isn't making enough profit, you're going to see further declines in what your business is able to generate.

The comment was made above that paid traffic was vastly superior to organic traffic and that if you build your business on organic, it can crash quickly. I was just pointing out that businesses that rely on paid traffic are no different if, for any number of reasons, the owner can't continue to dump money into buying traffic.

Over the long haul, I would rather have a nice flow of organic traffic that I'm not paying for than to be spending a large amount of my profit on continuing to feed the traffic sources.

Just my opinion based on my own experience in business. Your mileage may vary . . .

The fact is, you really don't know anything about the site at all except whatever BS metrics SitePrice gives you. Can't believe nobody even questions that.

You don't know how many visitors it gets, you don't know where the traffic comes from, and the most important thing, you have no idea how much money it makes (or which channels pay off).

People on the forum tend to be obsessed with things like Page rank, back links, Authority sites, and whatever long-tail phrase a site ranks for. But none of that means squat.

If you really want to copy a successful business model, take a look at the adwords listings for the same search phrase. Now those guys know how to turn traffic into money because they are paying $0.50 - $1 per visitor.
