If You're Not Making A Consistent Income Online Read This...

If I was teaching a class on internet marketing and somebody asked me, "How do you make a consistent income online?", I would tell him/her this....

Choose a business model and master it.

So, we all know what it means to master something right?

You have to study it, apply it, learn from other masters, incorporate and test different strategies and methods, and do this every day.

Think about it this way.

If you mastered the product creation and marketing business model, do you think you would have problems making money?

There are people making a lot of money online with that business model who have not mastered it, so don't you think if you mastered it then you would at least be able to make a decent income online?

What if you mastered the affiliate marketing and traffic generation business model, would your bank account be empty?

I highly doubt your bank account would be empty, because I started doing affiliate marketing when I was 17 years old with no experience and I made my first $50 within 7 days.

Another thing you have to keep in mind is, mastery is obviously something that takes time. Why do you think it takes most people so long to start seeing success, because consistent success usually begins once someone has mastered their craft or at least once they begin to have a clear understanding of what needs to be done.

They become so good at what they do that success becomes inevitable.

One can argue that you don't even need to master a business model to make a consistent income and that is certainly true.

The idea of mastering one business model represents the mindset needed to be successful online. You don't need to buy every product you see, or try every business model ever created because you would lose your focus on mastering "one" business model at a time.

Once you find that one business model that makes sense to you. The only thing you should be worried about is how can I become a master of that particular business model.

Also, you need to make sure that the business model you choose actually works. Mastering a business model that doesn't work is like trying to run a marathon with a sprained ankle, you're setting yourself up for failure.

So, if you're tired of being broke and you want to start making a decent income online, find a business model that intrigues you, and get really good at it.

I think many people get seduced into thinking that internet marketing means 'easy money'. Its easy when you know 'how' - but as you say learning 'how' takes time and effort. (and perhaps ability.)

The problem is that not everyone is prepared to make the commitment necessary, so they never succeed.

You pretty much summarized what I said very nicely. I like to compare online marketing to learning how to play a new instrument.

What would happen if you tried to learn how to play the piano, the guitar, and the trumpet at the same time?

You would either give up because you wouldn't get decent results, you would burn out because of all the information you need to learn/time you have to dedicate to practice, or you would end up learning how to play each instrument at a below average level.

Instead, focus on learning one instrument at a time or one business model at a time until you become very good at it, then you can learn how to play another instrument or learn how to succeed with another business model.

    I have this to add.

Follow a proven system that works for you and don't deviate from it.

Many times, people get distracted along the way, and started making changing the system and then wonder why things didn't work out.

"Also, you need to make sure that the business model you choose actually works."
If this would have been natural and easy, we probably wouldn't be here talking IM
Sometimes we let ourselves into promoting a particular business model just because we like it, but it doesn't have to be a right one.
So we're back to testing and failing and testing again? Or is there a way to determine the success of a business model? Cause many promises and illusions are hidden in the online...

You should never stop testing / tweaking different strategies or methods. As stated by the OP many fail due to the fact that they try to focus on too many things at once. I constantly teach clients that they must focus on "one" thing and get it going before going onto the next.

Keep in mind that just because one business model may work for someone does not mean it will work for everyone. This is why testing and tweaking is so important.

I agree, finding the right business model is not as easy as it sounds, but I believe if you stick with something for long enough you will figure out a way to make it work. That was the case for me.

Exactly. If there are other people who are successful with a particular business model then there it is obvious that it works. So, it is up to you to make it work. If it doesn't work, there is something that you're doing wrong. That is why it is important to have a mentor or someone who can help you stay on the right path to success.
