Growing a Business Takes Time!

Starting a small business takes time. I can recall a business I started that went something like this.
1st Month $60
2nd Month $120
3rd Month $270
4th Month $480
...
20th Month $$$$$

You hear stories about people making money quick, and it does happen, but most of the time a big business starts quite small with a series of steps, and it takes time to grow. Many people are not able formulate a plan, or get discouraged too early.

I'm about halfway through the above, and I've done it a few times before now (not the links in my sig). Some early months I worked 150+ hours and lost money, but I knew I was on the right path to adding value to people's lives, and they would pay.

I'm getting really excited again despite the fact that I have barely profited from many months of work. What sort of time range do you work with when you start a small business?

There a lot of marketers out there who have not made any money for years and now earn thousands per month.

It takes time and a lot of patience/learning.

It's possible but you have to learn from mistakes and move on.

This describes me to a capital T. My learning curve was huge because there was so much information, some good some bad. My key was taking action and developing my own understanding of what works and what doesn't.

Over the years I've also found that the most effective stuff for me doesn't get discussed very often. Trial and error is the true way to success, IMHO. Be a leader, think outside of the box, use your own good judgment and track everything you do.

Without proper tracking, you're shooting in the dark.

      Wishing you all much success,

It is a subscription based software product that runs a special type of small business for which there are about 40,000 in the World, but something we can grow into more verticals in time.

I'm not here to promote my product, as 99.8% of people would probably not be interested at least at this point. I'm just saying you have to spend time planning, working through the details, and making those first sales which may be quite small at first.

I would be so happy to have the time frames you guys are mentioning. So far I've gone from $0 to $400 a month and it took 12 months. This is with an a authority site and 3 niche sites.

A business can be built instantly.

You only need ONE product or service and one customer.

I could go next door and tell them I'll mow their lawn for $10 and I'd have a "business".

What takes time is building a profitable and efficient business.

It takes time to establish your brand, to generate a following, to build up a product line, to hire and train staff, to expand,.. but starting a business can happen overnight.

You can start to build a successful business overnight, but you can't have a successful business overnight. It takes time and effort. If you can find one, hire a mentor you trust who can get you where you want to be.

I speak from experience; I didn't start to see progress in my business until I got involved in a coaching program that gave me direction.

I went from purchase to purchase, not implementing any of it, feeling more and more confused, and not having clue one where to begin.

I'm not throwing any names out in this forum. If you want to PM me where I am right now, I'll be happy to steer you in a specific direction. Absolutely no affiliate links. I want to help people as others have helped me.

            Best of luck to you.

It really depends on what business though.. if it's WSO, it will be faster, then it will crawl again after the launch..

I'm in the Reselling and White Label field, haven't launch my WSO yet, but have one in WF Ads section. It depend on how you market it from forum to forum.

After 1 year in IM, I implemented and take action in this Reselling/White Label model, and my 1st month net sales were $2,256.36 and last month of April were lower $1,158.09

On my experience, whatever good your product/services are,,it relies on How much Targeted traffic going to your sales page.

              Regards,
              Joel

When you slowly work your path to a successful business again and again, you learn what you need to do and what to avoid doing... As you build your experience, the path becomes clearer and the money comes faster.

Things take time, that is correct.

It's is not true that it has to take a long time.

    For example:
You can do a little research 20 hours
Then write up what you found 5 hours
Then publish it as WSO which would take another 10 hours if you never did it before.

Overall I would say 1 week and have a new business started, in this case it would be publishing a WSO.

This is not theory. That is exactly what I did when I published my first WSO. That did not make me rich over night but with 600+ copies sold gave me a good taste on what is possible.

If you can write you would surely have a disadvantage but even that can be solved.

Now, if you decide to start a different business the time involved might be much longer. For example if you decide to build a web site and then make a living from whatever the web site earns you are looking at a much longer run way.

I find it a little entertaining sometimes that people are selling a plan virtually "guaranteed" to make money. If the plan is so good, is it simply out of the kindness of their heart they now want to share it? Or is it maybe that they make money selling the plan, rather than actually realizing that plan for themselves?

Obviously, there are going to be a few people whose businesses are oriented toward making money right here on Warrior Forum through a plan. I get it.
