Would this be a good offer for a solo ad??

Hey everyone! I am new to the solo ad method of marketing. I have some questions.

The angle I'm thinking of going is to target people who haven't even started their Wordpress blog and provide a freebie guide (maybe with videos) for setting it up. I would then have a follow up series recommending various other affiliate offers like hosting, WP plugins, autoresponder service, etc. Basically the stuff I already use.

The whole angle is basically built for people who haven't taken action yet, and need a shove to help them along with getting it all set up and off the ground. Does this sound like an offer/funnel that would work for solo ad? Or should I consider some other form of PPC for this type of offer? Or should I ditch this offer and come up with something else? Do you think something like that would be successful? What types of offers/funnels typically do well for solo ads?

I know there are many variables, such as how well my follow up series is, squeeze page conversion rate, & more, but I guess I'm just looking for a general thumbs up or thumbs down on this idea before I proceed.

As I said, I'm completely new to solo ads so please forgive me for the dumb questions

I think you have a pretty good idea but I'm not sure if Solo ads are the way to promote it. In my opinion you need a more targeted method such as PPC or display adverting.

Traffic from solo ads are in general not bad but you won't make always your money back on the frontend. Get the traffic from solo ads and provide massive value in your follow up series than I'm sure you can profit from from the backend sales.

I've done ok with some Solo Ad posters. Its the Conversions I'm not getting.
So, I really don't know if real targeted traffic prospects, who are into Internet Marketing as a whole are the ones getting my ads. Good Luck to you.

    Hi,

    This is mainly pure speculation!

YOU MUST GET YOUR FEET WET AND DO SOME TESTING!!!

It's the only way you'll know whether your offer will convert and allow you to
build your lists FAST & for free by making back your investment made on
    Solo Ads.

If you're unsure about your offer pick out a HIGH converting affiliate offer
or use an upcoming product launch that has already been tested and has
    produced the goods.

I've thought that as well. Not sure if Facebook ads would work better or not. Obviously testing is only way to know.

That would the idea of course. I'm not so much concerned about making a profit from OTOs, but just want to build a successful backend.

And thank you for all the advice!

If you can manage to properly target people that are in the wordpress building stage it will work just fine but you don't really have that option with solo ad.

As I said before you need to target people that are in the exact stage of needing help with building Word-Press anything less than that will cause you to waist your money and time. IMHO

Yeah, and I don't exactly want to waste much money right now since I'm having trouble raising the cash to fund anything right now.

Where could I find people who are in that exact stage I wonder? Hmm thinking aloud here.

I haven't done one in a long time but you could probably do a free WSO but it needs to be catchy and convincing to maximize your results. If you want a buyers list you can charge a buck using a processer that automatically ads the buyer to your list.

If you go this route, when eligible add a signature linking to your WSO and get involved here at the forum on topics you're knowledgeable about. If you know your stuff people will notice this and notice your signature in return, bringing you business.

You could even take it one step further by boosting your WSO price a little and offering affiliates 100% commissions for promoting it. This can build your buyers list pretty fast.

Looks like I'm giving you all the secrets of the trade, well not all. lol

Your product talks about portions or parts of making money online so that is a good start.

You can test your offer with solo ads but you can also try with pay per click marketing.

Hey WealthyClark, are you sure there wouldn't be people on "solo ad lists" that haven't taken action yet on starting their blogs? It could be poeple who have INTENDED to start in IM but haven't gotten their site up and running yet due to intimidation or lack of technical skills.

Don't you think there would be lots of people on those lists like that?

Sure I think there are people on those list that would need your service but in my opinion it's a gamble unless you know exactly how the list was built. A solo ad from an established provider is expensive and knowing how the list was built can allow you to make a better judgment on if they are in fact your target audience or not. In your case I myself wouldn't take the risk unless the list owner could assure me that his list had a good percentage of newbies on it. If you can afford to just jump out there and take the chance that's fine but if not you should do a good share of research first.

I've seen guys selling solo ads here on the forum for 0.60 cents per click, you can target better and for much cheaper with a properly setup PPC campaign IMHO. Just trying to give you some ideas in hopes of helping you make a good decision but at the end of the day you must make that decision. Even if you fail, you still learn a good lesson along the way, that's how I learned. Take in as much advice as possible but don't forget to use your own good judgment and track your results.

There are lots of people who needs this kind of help
If you are alone,i'd think twice,as try to imagine how can you help let's say 4 people at one time?
It may sound good to have lots of customers, but the too quickly growth can bring troubles,if you don't manage them properly

    Sure...

    Test and tweak.

You should convert at least by 1% starting out. Tweak to improve.

If you're really banging your head against the wall then I imagine it's not a NEED in the market.

But I imagine if you just did market research really quick in Youtube on the number of searches of: "How to create a wordpress blog"

it will probably show you have a lot of demand.

Will they pay for it though?

    Create the right package.

    Test

    Tweak

    And move forward.
