  I've used PR Web too. They do everything ok, despite trying to make you buy a more expensive package all the time.
  
  Be careful with press-releases though. Many PR-distributing services that were so cool to deal with two years ago are now considered bad links. At least by google

I notice you are in the UK (like myself). The best press release service I have used is from www.journalism.co.uk they can write and publish your release. I'd suggest hiring a copywriter to write a phenomenal press release for you. Some of the things you get from oDesk are written by non-native speakers and/or spammy.

PRWeb are great; they'll provide you with tips, tools/templates, and full statistics. Might be a bit expensive for some though.
