Am I allowed to give away a free product for a WSO, or does it have to be something I am selling. (never done one before)

Yes, you can give away a free product, as long as you are the creator. Warriors build a list with free WSO's everyday

Yes, you can do that but you might want to sell it first.

If you sell a WSO first and then give it away free you give away something that
has a proven value. Makes a difference.

Yes, you can give away a free product on a WSO. You can see some of it (to see how it looks like) by searching for FREE WSO on the section/marketplace.

Doing a free WSO is an excellent way to build up your mailing list. Then when you do a paid product, you'll already be ahead of the game because you can send a message to your subscribers telling them about the paid offer.

If possible try to plan ahead regarding what your future paid offer might be, and make your free WSO something that would complement it.

For example, suppose that you create a free WSO which offers people a package of high quality cover photos for their Facebook pages.

Shortly after that, you could do a paid product that shows people how to succeed with Facebook ad campaigns. Since they opted in to get your free FB related WSO, you already know that they've got some interest in Facebook marketing.

Also, since the giveaway item was of good quality, the people who took you up on it will be more likely to purchase your highly relevant paid training.

I believe you can also give away a free WSO and on the download page offer them a really great deal on something very closely related that would majorly enhance the value of the freebie! Or more of what the freebie was all about, depending on what it is.

        Good luck.

Warriors always appreciate a free WSO. Plus you build a list as well. So it is a win-win situation in my opinion. Always remember to provide value..
