What do you do after each and every blog post?

Hey guys,

I'm curious what steps other people make after they publish a post on there blog. Hope I can collect some new ideas from this by seeing what others do.

    It really depends. On my blog, I just sit and wait for people to read, but I'm sure others would do SEO work if they're wanting to rank it.

    I make it's back links. Which makes my blog strong and stable. I also try to get more traffic on it.

    It's not enough any more to just write a blog post and leave it like it is you promote it. There are several steps I do after I published it like

    1. Pinging it
    2. share on facebook, twitter, G+, Stumple Upon, Reddit
    3. I bookmark it also on other sites
    4. Pin it on Pinterest
    5. Scoop.it
    6. Share it on medium
    7. Create a slideshare presentation out of it
    8. Mail my list

    just to name a few steps! Write epic posts, promote it and get visitors!

      Great list, Thanks for sharing. Medium and slideshare is something new to me and going have to try them out.

      Should I be pinging even if I have use wordpress? I think it pings automatically after each new blog post. Also you ping your homepage not your post correct?

        I ping it anyway! I always ping the actual post. You can find also pinging services which will ping you link again every three days.

    Perhaps pin it.

    And then put it on FB.

    Mention it on G+

    is a service that automatically sends posts to 50 networks or so.....

    1. Make it proper SEO friendly by tagging, title and meta tags, H1 tag usage and bold
    2. Pinging it to various Pinging Websites
    3. Submitting RSS Feed to various Free RSS Submission websites
    4. Social Media Sharing - Facebook, Twitter, G+, LinkedIn, Soup, Tumblr, Apsense, StumpleUpon, Reddit
    5. Social Bookmarking on selected websites.
    6. Sharing it to the news related websites like Scoop.it

    2. Social Sharing

    What I am doing these days is,

    1. I post the link to relevant groups at G+ and facebook.
    2. I email and message my close friends (who are into this) that I have wrote a new post and I would like to hear their feedback.
    3. I update my signature here on WF with the new post url.
    4. Ping the site using Pingomatic.
    5. I email to my list about this new post.
    6. Do some commenting with the url in it/commentluv.
    7. I reply to the comments when I get some.

    That's it in a nutshell. Looking for more ways to promote my post.

    After making a blog post you should let people know about it. One way of doing that is having a list of people subscribed to your blog and email them each time you make a new blog post.

    You always want to add 2 things to each blog:

    1. An opt in form so that your readers can subscribe to your list.

    2. Not everyone will want to opt in to your list so offer them one or more affiliate programs on each blog page that you create.

    I just worry about the content curation of the post and ensure that it is the best quality that I can make it. The other areas around my Blog contain ads and related information that someone might naturally gravitate towards.

    I also have a times pop-up that appears after 60 seconds where I give away 100 free leads for any business.

    There are some great tips here and just shows all us newbies that it does take effort to make things happen - they will not happen simply by posting alone.
    Another example of how IM needs treating like any other business as far as consistent effort.
