Email Marketing Safe Or Spamming ?

I have a question to ask: how much email marketing is safe? Is it considered as SPAMMING?
So far I know sending unsolicited email is considered as SPAM.

Please provide me some tips and service providers.
I would really appreciate all replies.

Thanks for giving valuable time

It's always spamming if you send emails to people who have not agreed to receive them for you.

The only exception is if they contact you first. If someone contacts you via email, you are allowed to contact them.

Email marketing is not spamming if done correctly. If you have permission from them for you to send them emails, then you are not spamming.

Also, I provide a short sentence at the top of my emails informing them that they are receiving the emails because they signed up for them. If they no longer want emails from me, then they can unsubscribe very easily on the email page.

Just don't do anything silly and you should be ok..

In the US, unsolicited b2b emails are not considered spam as long as the following conditions are met: 1. The subject line is not misleading. 2. The recipient has an easy way to unsubscribe. 3. You stop sending emails promptly when requested to. Note that this only applies to business-to-business emails. A lot of people generate leads this way and its perfectly legal.

To send emails to consumers, however, they must opt-in in some way and have an easy way to unsubscribe.

I am not a specialist in Email Marketing, but have done some campaigns. If they are done right, it is not considered as SPAM, but as Marketing Strategy. I know a lot of people who are doing email and make lots of money out of it.

As a recipient, I consider email to be spam even if I originally agreed to receive it if the amount and frequency of the email is more than a normal person would expect under the circumstances.

For example, if I sign up for emails at a daily deal site like Groupon, I expect to get an email every day. If I signed up for emails from an airline, getting an email every day would be unexpected and annoying. I also think that from a marketing perspective, it would be counterproductive.

      Hi Green

Do you regard it as spam if you are getting helpful emails with a sponsored offer at the bottom and not simply just offers to products?

What if you get an email everyday like this?

If you're that concerned, then just go with the "double opt-in" (confirm method) for all new leads who come into your email marketing funnel.

Clever email marketing can't be a spam - it is an instrument for making money. I have an experience of working with projects that made 300-500% ROI with email marketing and nothing more. Everything depends on your niche, your website and on interests of your leads.

I believe that as long as someone has agreed to receive information from you then it is not spam, as long as the information delivered is related to what was promised. They should always have the option to unsubscribe if they are unhappy.

Email marketing is not spamming if you follow the rules and do things ethically. If you send a lot emails to people who do not allow you to send emails to them, then it is spamming. But, on the other hand if they allow you to do so then it is not spamming. Like littledan said there should always be the option to unsubscribe if one is not happy with being on the list.

Email marketing, is only spam if you are doing bulk email marketing from scraping email list online, but there is another thing that may be viewed upon as spam from people like aweber but you are buying list called co-registration lists buying of people who have placed them self on a list to receive offers, but they did not subscribe to your list would still be spam if you are using aweber, etcc so you would have to buy into a service that does not mind uploading those lists.

You can still do this kind of marketing, but would have to do this marketing not using standard email marketing tools and services.

There is a science to email marketing, it is simple and yet very profound at the same time, because it can be optimized like a fine tune machine where you pump even more money out of that list because you are truly an expert , a guru in email marketing, so you are able to make more money from that list because of your knowledge and expertise in this area.
