I am going to save you alot of time and worthless effort with what I say here !!
This is just my opinion, but anyone who thinks they are going to enter the IM Niche with a Blog and become the next john chow or Shoemoney is probably fooling themselves. I am NOT saying it is impossible but highly improbable.

My suggestion is pick a Niche that people actually are in need of something. Even better if it something they are desperate for like hair loss, weight loss, credit repair etc..etc..

To me trying to be an A-lister and focusing your efforts on Marketing to other Bloggers and IMers is a flawed business model.
You will end up building an RSS feed of 5,000 people with NO paying customers but rather just a bunch of other Bloggers reading your material and nothing else. And then these Bloggers will try to learn tips from you on how to make money and go out and do the same with other Bloggers...etc..etc.. and the endless , worthless cycle goes on and on !!

Its literally Social Traffic at its worst !!

Ah, I see - I thought the minimum posts rule applied to signatures too

That's a good question actually, that's just the way the theme came - the theme is called Pixeled. I'm actually going to post a thread asking for critiques and feedback on every aspect of it sometime soon, I really want to improve it and bring more conversions to the traffic it gets.

Wow, there are quite a few.

Here is mine Stay Home Mum - The Work At Home Websites For Mums which started off as a website rather than a blog and then sat there for about a year doing nothing, so a couple of months back I decided to convert it to a blog.

My other one is Work From Home: Home which is being a bit neglected at the moment -must update!

I'm sorry but I think you are SO wrong...

It's all about how you go about marketing yourself online.

Sure, the majority of new "bloggers" will fail but that is because they go about things all wrong.

I KNOW I am going to succeed in the very market you deem worthless, but if you want to convince yourself there is no money in that niche, or that it's too saturated, then carry on.

First of all, I'd like to just make a comment that, while it's true that the IM niche is highly competitive and that most people should enter other niches, it's also true that IF you have vast experience with at least one aspect of the IM niche that you feel you could do really well with, by all means consider starting a business within the IM niche.

For instance, as you'll notice in my sig file, below, my blog is IM related, in that it's all about helping product owners, affiliate managers, and so on to maximize their affiliate programs and JV efforts... based on my experience as an affiliate manager for nearly 5 years.

While I have plans of expanding beyond that down the line, the truth is that it's my EXPERIENCE, and the fact that I believe there's a lot that isn't being taught in this subniche of the IM niche, which naturally led me to starting a blog about it.

Anyway, if you are just starting as an Internet marketer, I agree that you should NOT try to compete with others in the IM niche, but if you have been around the block a few times, and feel that you have acquired some good knowledge (and hopefully some positive RESULTS) within IM, the truth is that you know a lot more about it than EVERYONE ELSE who is entering this still largely untapped frontier for the first time... so you MAY do rather well catering to those people.
