Best way to get started?

Hi Guys,

I'm new to this whole IM thing, and am still taking in the landscape. Here's where I am:

I have created a software product in the financial commodities niche.
I am using twitter to log the success of the product (track record to refer to later, and to source purchasers).
I am in the process of creating a site to sell the software.

The software itself will be offered on a subscription basis (purchaser pays $10 a week or so)

What I am wondering is.. what is the best method of getting the party started? Obviously I need to get the site up and direct my twitter follows to it. Aside from that, purchase keywords? Do the Facebook thing? post on forums?

I'm considering making it available for affiliate sales too - eg. Affiliate would receive 5 - 10% of recurring revenue while their lead continues to pay. Would that be helpful?

Thoughts?

Many Thanks,
Michael

Do your keyword research if you want to go the SEO/adwords route, or figure out who exactly your target audience is so that you can market on facebook.

You already have the product, now you just need the traffic.

Personally, once I had the website up I'd start running facebook campaigns to a squeeze page. The affiliate program is a good next step, it'll get your product out there more.

    Good luck!

Youtube is a great channel for funneling in visitors. Make some informational vids and link back to your squeeze page. Make sure to set up an email campaign too!

    purchase keywords?
?? Down at the keyword store?

5 - 10% of recurring revenue while their lead continues to pay.
Unless that equals $50 or $100 then you won't get any takers. You have to make it worth their time and effort.
