Do You Think It's Worth Creating A Product Like This?

Hey Warriors, after being in this business now for over a decade, and working in IM full time for almost 80% of that time, I'm thinking of FINALLY getting my feet wet by entering the IM product market.

In the past, I've made all my money in markets outside of IM, but now I'm considering putting everything I've learned into one higher end product. I'm thinking a members area that contains video modules with PDF's and resources. No BS. No Fluff.

The subject would be simple: creating targeted email lists, knowing how to keep your list active and most of all, how to create various products to sell to them. Of course, I'd also discuss unique ways to test markets, how to promote, and finally how to scale things up once things are working.

The question is, although there are a lot of products on the market today that cover these areas, do you think it is even worthwhile to create it in your opinion?

I really want to create a true, all-inclusive product that takes someone from nothing to a legit online business based on list building to make "little" businesses that can net them anywhere between $1000 to $10,000 per month in all types of niches. I'm thinking of pricing it around $297 or even more since it will be comprehensive.

I'm thinking creating the product may take me several months at least to get it the way I want (I'm a perfectionist at heart) plus easy for the user to follow. But I thought I'd get your opinion here first. I want to create a solid product of my own that I can promote for years to come.

Thoughts?

I believe there is always room for another great product.

    I'll buy it

I'm like you - I've been in the fitness niche (and others) full-time since 2009 and just "coming-out" as a marketer this year.

    What was your main niche?

        It's fun isn't it

I would suggest for you the perfectionist - to get started.

You can produce products in steps.

Work on the larger product but start paving the road establishing you and your brand by selling smaller front end products.

As you produce you can start to bundle for upsells.

Then when your larger product is ready you will already have a list of "buyers" who bought your smaller stuff. They already know and like you so more willing to jump into the big product.

Top this off with a membership site/forum and offer coaching as well.

The membership site come with weekly coaching upsell and offer one on one for more.

Your idea sounds great and I believe it will be a great product!

I would say go for it! There's always room for another product, plus even though there are similar products out there, there isn't a product which is done by you, with your unique angle, unique personality and your unique brand. Since you want to dive into the IM marketplace, it's a great idea to get your name out there with your own "system" on how to create "little" businesses that will make them money.

        Dayne,

I'm sure you know this already, but it bears repeating-

You will be entering the "make money" market and will be competing with all the other "biz opps" and "MMO" products for prospects that are mostly looking for easy, quick, little work - big profits solutions.

And even though your product may be legitimate, no BS, and a workable system, you're going to have to carve out a space for your business in a landscape of scams, con artists, self appointed gurus, as well as some others that are quite honest and genuinely interested in helping folks create small businesses and income streams.

By association and because you're simply in this market, you're going to be scrutinized more heavily than if you were entering other markets. This arena is not for the faint of heart.

Plan on comparatively low success rates of customers using your system - not that it doesn't work as advertised - it's just that a large percentage of your customers will never put forth the effort to fully prove what you're trying to teach them.

Go into this market with your eyes wide open.

        Good luck to you,

        Steve

True, but then again, don't underestimate originality and personality (which 80% of IM products lack).

Also, you have to remember this is a HUGE market that is evergreen.

I don't have to sell 1000 copies a month, I'd only need to sell maybe 10-15 a month out of that huge market to make a decent monthly income. Plus, I could offer other services to these members on the side (like coaching or copywriting) as well for a profit boost.

          Just my two cents ;-)

    Hi,

You have the plan now it's time to TEST THE WATERS!

I see so many people OVER THINK things and they END UP DOING...

    ...NOTHING!

I hope you don't make the same mistake.

You obviously know your subject so yeah get TESTING your price points
and see what the market is willing to pay you for your service.

If you're promising them the incomes as you've mentioned you could offer
a GROUP COACHING service too where you hold group calls each week
    to create that community environment.

I love IM. I do spend time on this forum answering questions and also have helped others via PM or email. From what I have seen and given my personality I would rather stick pins in my eyes than release any product in IM.

There are tons of people that need help and I am very happy to help as time permits BUT after so many years here I have seen some really great people give absurd value for $7 only to be attacked by those that want everything done for them.

I would rather choose who I help and not have to deal with the masses in IM but that's just me.
I would do it if you are passionate about it and if you could stay passionate about it after half a dozen people tear you a new one just because you did not answer an email in an hour or something broke in your system or they did not make a million in 15 days with your $7 system :-)

IMO, you're precisely the kind of person that beginners should be listening to.

What do you have to lose really? You could probably launch it at an introductory price as a WSO and make enough sales to recoup your development expenses and be fairly compensated for the time you invest.

I say go for it if it's something you truly want to do. But really, only you can decide if it is worthwhile. Would you regret it more if you went for it and the results didn't meet your expectations or if you never went for it? There's your answer. Good luck.

It's not going to be a $7 system. It's going to be a high ticket item to weed out those who are serious, and those who are not.
