Butterfly Marketing Question/Problem..

I'm trying hard here to get my homepage.html to work..

I've uploaded it a few times but it isnt doing anything..

The main.html is displaying fine but not homepage.html

I'm confused.

Anyone know anything about it?

    Hey Intrepreneur,

    Could you elaborate the problem a little further? What is the problem you are experiencing with homepage.html?

    main.html is the whole HTML framework for your site, and the homepage.html is the content for your home page.

    did you try going to catepillar forum...they have a link to the VIDEOS where they show you how to do the entire process of installing and making BFM 2.0 site...

    i just finished mine...not the easiest thing but definitely worth it...

    not sure about specifics...but you need to be in ADMIN to make all the pages...easier than using FTP in my opinion....

    but there are lots of pages...most likely you got mixed up with the pages...if not, do you have a backup file? if you do, load the backup and try again...

        That's a total nonsense!
        Don't give advice if you don't know what are you talking about. Like in many scripts, in BM you cannot change arbitrarily the template file names.

            he's talking about the butterfly marketing script.. you can't answer it if you haven't used it, as it's a framework for an entire website/membership/oto's/autoresponder/download management/affiliate management solution

    Yes, Intrepreneur,

    Inside your admin dashboard:

    1.click on 'site templates'

    (then the menu where you can choose),

    2.select 'homepage'.

    Inside your admin panel:

    (you'll see the onsite html editor
    and the easy instructions to
    create and/or edit your homepage.)

    3.After pasting your source code in that page,
    4.and clicking save,
    5.when you visit your homepage via your url,
    you'll see the changes you made.

    (You could also visit the caterpillar forum.)

    Hi Tony,

    For me, it took me about 1-2 months from start to finish...

    actually finished the basics in 1st month...
    and took another month to make it look good and all the little details...

    it definitely takes longer than what i'm used to (just creating 2-3 page websites) but it is worth it i believe in the long run...

    how is your progress?

    Isn't index.html, home.html, default.html, main.html and homepage.html the same thing? They are all the first page when you visit a site say sitename.com!, rest of the pages link off from your fisrt (home) page and so on.
    Generate new site page
    Use this section to add new pages to your site. The pages will be made for you to modify in later on the | Site Templates | link on the menu above. It will also generate the .php page needed in the script automatically for you.


    In Butterfly Marketing Script main.html is what you generate in your admin panel >> site design >>> site templates. Your homepage shoud be generated from admin panel >>> site design >>> generate new pages - which you then link to in the menu on the main.html (If you want it to show).
    The page will also show on your menu if you like. If you do not want it to display, or only want it to display to certain members, just go to | Menu | option on the main admin menu above when finished.

      Thanks everyone, you wouldn't beleive I sat for almost 2 hours battling with it, looking through the code on main.html and homepage.html and not even noticing that the smart tags for content was missing.
