I wouldn't want (or be willing to buy) one "including hosting": that sounds like a recipe for not really owning and controlling your own website, but being unnecessarily dependent on someone else. This is one of the things that a website has in common with your lists: if something's going to be an important part of your business's assets, you need to very careful indeed to whom its safekeeping and security are entrusted and be certain that it's a very long-established and reliable, proven hosting company with a stellar reputation among marketers?

There seem to be plenty of different sorts of sites for sale (here and elsewhere), including design, logos, content, and so on, at prices around the $10-$20 mark. I think this is probably why so many people don't instinctively think of it as a high-priced purchase, to put it mildly?

You are right - it has become an undervalued service.

On another note - I've seen some of your posts on article syndication etc. Excellent information!

Let me know if you are ever interested in doing an (original) indepth and informative guest post

      ^ This,

I always go by the rule of outsourcing as long as you have a rough idea of how what you are outsourcing works.

Even if you are not going to do the "leg work" you should own your own domain and website - it really is worth learning the basic skills for this otherwise essentially you will not own your site.

In terms of pricing it is the same as anything else, it depends who you use, and what you want.

Get someone with a proven track record or try and research as much as you can. There are plenty of good people on the forum and of course plenty of not so good - again due diligence is underrated in my opinion.

The best way to safeguard against getting burnt is to know EXACTLY what you want, why and what you are going to use it for.

      Hope this helps,

      Chris

I think most people see these sites as garbage. Mostly, because they're cranked out like an assembly line and aren't perceived to be unique or valuable. Then placed on flippa and sold for nearly nothing.

The value, to me, would be in providing customers a sure-fire money making method. Give them a blueprint and help them put it in effect, or put it in effect for them. For example. Work with the customer to select a niche. Help them find a product to promote. Then build the site around the product. Then provide articles/content. Then offer/provide ongoing assistance for a fee.

To me, something like that provides the value as the customer can see the entire process and then replicate it. And they get the coach/done-for-you feel. It will also allow you to sell from a new site standpoint where the customer understands that the sales expected to come.. Not a prebuilt site without any sales that you're trying to 'dump' on someone else.

I think that will add value and you can charge more for the service. If I were new to affiliate marketing, which I pretty much am, I'd pay a couple/few hundred dollars for something like that.

I think whether it is $100 or $1000, I would be wanting to know what sets you apart. Maybe for example you have some features built into your offering that are enticing (responsive design, sell products online, etc). Then you might want to look at leveraging an affiliate program like hosting or merchant accounts.

      Thanks guys, great input!

Maybe I should set up a few samples and get a better idea of what people want / would pay?

I think PLR content is a good idea in the way that it shows someone who is unfamiliar with using WP how and where to put things. But could also offer original content for a higher premium?

Unfortunately these days there is much, much, MUCH, more to getting a site ranked than just keywording structure.

Especially in a heavily competitive niche.

It requires on and off page SEO and ongoing maintenance and building out. This is why SEO/ranking packages are ongoing monthly costs.

I would have no problem with providing niche-relevant on-page/site SEO but could never guarantee ranking without a monthly package.

if its all setup including a small ppc campaign to test it converts and seo included and the ctr and conversion works 5k.

Thats my idea of a done for you website. A convert for you website.

HAHHA that is a great brand. We should JV and open up

    " Convert for you"

We make websites that automatically convert for your business, service or product.
You pay us - the specialists - 5000$ and we make you a million dollar potential business.

    WSO of the week.

    Are you in CynthiaC?

Can you make websites that convert 100%?

I'd buy one for 5k if it seriously converts but with a convert-back-guarantee.

I can do websites myself which are extremely good but I need to see how they convert

    PM Me!

Sure, I'd love to be able to guarantee 100% conversion with a $M payout.

Sell a few hundred then disappear in Belize.

      Good luck on THAT guarantee!

      ROFL!!!

If I could do that I would keep them
