I'm a noob. What's the best way to start?

Hello,

I've heard about making money online for a long time, but I was skeptical about this (read stories about scams) until i saw some proofs from a guy who is into this. So i decided to investigate more about this.

What's the best way to start to make money?. I'm 25 years old and i'm studying graphic design.

I can't write ebooks.
I can't write or make blogs. I've tried, but i suck at it.

I've read that Flipping domains and websites is a great way to make money?.

Thanks in advance and sorry if the question is kinda lame.

Most things, if not all things, work.

You say you're not good at certain things... well, welcome to the club. Many people aren't good at something... it's only when you study a certain subject, immerse yourself, and most importantly DO, and take massive amounts of action do you finally get good at something and stop "sucking" at it.

This also depends on your personality, if you have some money and how much.

If you're just looking to get started as quick as possible, failing as quick as possible, and you have some money to invest, then learn paid traffic and how to drive traffic to various offers.

Others will have other opinions, this is just mine.

Wouldn't i need a website or a blog to use paid traffic as a tool to make money? If that's the case, then i can't because i don't have a web or a blog. I've tried to make one long time ago but i'm not good at it. Not creative enough.

        You can do this.

I'm just coming back from the bank where I deposited a Clickbank cheque I received from clickbank just this week. I got that cheque by promoting a clickbank product (paid survey program) using bing/microsoft PPC advertising. I simply purchased a short ebook on the subject, found and offer at CB and promoted it, following the example in the book. I did not even use a landing page, just the clickbank affiliate link.

I doubled the money I spent on PPC advertising. I'm no guru, but getting those clickbank sales, then an actual cheque is always exciting. It tells me I can do something online and get paid for it without all the fanfare of building lists, social signals...blah blah.

Yes, I used paid traffic. I also used the free version of keywordeye.com to find relevant keywords (I used around 230 keywords). Only about 50 of them produced results as I was watching my expense and did not want to bid over 30 cents for any keyword. Do something like that. Take it slowly. Test keywords, offers, etc. until you find something that works. It may look daunting but you can do it.

        best to you,

I agree with John, You should first make portfolio and then provide services in the listed sites. You can easily make lot of money if you build good portfolio. First you can also provide free service to know brands for marketing too.

If you aren't willing to invest the time into being good at the things you say you can't do, you will need to invest money to pay those who can. How much money do you have to invest? If you're not willing to invest any money or time, then I'm afraid you won't make it very far. If you are, start leveraging your talents for cash, save and keep grinding and testing until you make it. There's no magic formula for being successful on the internet. Persistence, time and money. If it were easy, everyone would be internet millionaires.

I can invest some money. I can invest around 100 or 200$. It's not a lot, but it is a start. I'm not planning to make 1000$ the first day.

      Hi Llehstun

As everyone else already said here, it really depends on your effort..

Basically the best way is to try something and see how it works for you. You could be surprised with the results.

I tried almost everything, but nothing worked for me until I created my own product. That is to say, I really suck in affiliate marketing while other people are making thousands and vise versa.

Same will be for you most likely. It's not what other people are good at, its what will be the easiest for you.

If you are very good with graphics, then you could learn how to make a WSO ( Warrior Special Offer) and sell your graphics to the warriors. To post a warrior offer would cost you $40, but you would have a lot of exposure straight away and you wouldn't need a website if you begin like this...

Graphics are getting more and more important because competition is getting stronger every day...

You can see the example of my WSO here:

See what graphics you could create much better and use this as a guideline to sell high quality graphics to the warriors. I know I would Buy some as well...

Hope this helps with your dilemma..

      Cheers, Geena

I share same opinion as most comments stated above and add

If you you have some money as you said $100 - $200, than you have to (spend more time + the $100-$200) and you best route is affiliate marketing and CPA offer, because you don't know how to make website or blogs....

If you are a graphic designer - the hot trend at the moment is designing crowdsourced tshirts and selling them on Facebook.

If you are a design whizz, find a facebook marketing Whizz to team up with. There is little investment and some are making 6 figures a month.

Now, this may well be a fad that will last for a few more months, but pull some cash out of it while you can & you are then in a good position to move forward.

Well, i can build some websites. Basic knowledge with Css and Dreamweaver. And i can build blogs on blogspot. But what I meant is that i don't know what kind of blog or website i can create. I'm not very creative. I hope it makes sense.

Someone above said that you can get paid if you post in forums. How true is that?

I also read about flipping websites and flipping domains. But i'm not sure how it works.

I want to have alternatives and want to see what options I have. So i'm sorry for the questions.

You can start by selling a service like building blogs for people. You can also team up with a writer to write the content there. This is a great way to build contacts and promotion for you as a person.

While you're doing that, learn some stuff here on WF. Test the waters through the service, learn the tricks and avoid hurting yourself by plunging on it like a buffoon.

Writing articles based on keywords + SEO + monetization = $$$

That is one of the basic proven ways to make money online at a very basic level.

You can find people on this forum willing to set your site up for you for a few $.

Here are 3 ways you can get your first sales online with no investment :

    1. Place free classified ads to get traffic to any affiliate offer or CPA offer. Perhaps have them write to a gmail or hotmail address you create for only this purpose. Do not use your own e-mail address unless you like getting lots of spam. I go deeper into explaining this method HERE

    2. Create videos using Windows Media Center or other program and then upload them to YouTube, DailyMotion, Vimeo, etc. Create curiosity at the end of every video to see more details, learn more hot tips, etc. at the link you want them to visit.

    3. Use Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Linkedin, Myspace, etc. to make friends / contacts and share your links, videos, articles, blog posts, etc. with them.

There are other 0 cost ways besides those 3 methods.... I just listed what popped into my head first.

Keep studying here on the WF and learn as much as you can....

Don't jump too far out from your skill circle at the onset. You can sell your time and skills by offering your expertise. If you are good at graphic designing, then go for it and start at freelancing sites like Fiverr and oDesk.

Do not expect it to be an easy ride, though, because the law of supply and demand is always at work. But be tenacious, as there's bound to be a niche for you in this immense universe we call the Internet.

Marketing Graphic kits are a good sell which are needed in landing and squeeze pages. Ebook and product covers. If your good at Photoshop, then you definitely have an edge.

The most important skill you should learn is salesmanship... Nothing gets done unless something is sold... Nobody will opt-into your list, purchase your product, or want to collaborate on a project unless you know how to sell your ass off.

If you want to be online study direct response copywriting.

If you want to be offline, knock on doors & cold call relentlessly.

If you want to be a legend do both until one consumes the other.

      Good Luck,

I can understand how challenging this may seem to you.

So I took an estimated 20 minutes to write this
10 Don't Be a Wimp Steps to Start Making Money Online

Here's what you do... (I suggest that you do, for that matter )

Sit down and answer these questions. HONESTLY. Get rid of distractions while doing this.

    1. Go back to your ultimate and primary goal: EARN/MAKE MONEY ONLINE. Think about that goal for 5-10 minutes and really, I mean REALLY think about it. Do you really want to do it? Or do you NEED to do it?

    2. How much do you want to earn? Think initially or daily. $10? $20? $50?

    3. How soon do you need to earn? Today? In a week? In a month?

    4. Do you plan to do this for a long time?

    5. Assess yourself. What are your skills? What are your accomplishments? What stuff are you good at? List them all down.

    6. Look at your list and prioritize according to passion.

    7. Start creating your profile to market yourself.

    8. Don't say you don't know how to make a blog, you are not creative enough. That's loser mentality. YOU CAN DO IT IF YOU WILL YOURSELF TO DO IT. Everybody starts at 0, remember that.

Who cares if your first blog sucks? You can improve it as you go along. Do it in Blogger.com or Wordpress.com. It's free, anyway.

Create that blog, market yourself and introduce yourself to the world. Let the world know that what you have is sellable and they should buy it.

    9. Start joining freelancing platforms and forums. oDesk, Freelancer.com, Elance, DigitalPoint, and many others.

    10. Use your social media accounts (Twitter, Facebook) to let other people know your stuff. Your family, friends and social network may be interested to try your services and pay you, too. Do it for free just to build up your portfolio/testimonials.

As you develop your skills, slowly develop your portfolio, and in due time, you'll be well on your way to making money online.

    PS.
I may have missed steps here and there, but I'm sure my fellow Warriors can fill those blanks

    Go for it, my friend!

1.- I really want it. It always called my attention, but i was skeptical about this because i've read about a lot of scams here and there. But then I read and saw some interesting posts and i tried to dig more about this.

2.- I just want to earn money. 10$, 20$ or 30$ would be a good start. But right now i just want to earn money.

3.- Next week would be great. As soon as possible in fact.

4.- Indeed. I want to live from this if I can and if possible.

5.- I'm good with photoshop, illustrator and sony vegas. I mean, I'm not an expert, but i'm good with design and I know i get better.

8.- Well, i know i can build good blogs and good websites, but i don't know what kind of stuff i can write there. I hope it makes sense..

9.- I've been reading about eDisk, Fiver and probably next week i am going to open an account there.

      Thanks for your words.

I think the best way to start is to stick with that you really love and not on what you're good at. You may be good at something but in the long run, you might get tired. Do the things that you love

Flipping websites is a solid business model. Find related books, courses, and information and apply what you learn.

Whether you choose to flip websites or sell website creation services, make sure you focus solely upon one business model until you're successful before you even think about trying something else.

Quickest way I know of is Armand Morin's PLR strategy.

Buy a few PLR's in a niche, rebrand them, create a lead page, send traffic to the lead page, give away some PLR material, then, sell them the other PLR course. At 10 to 19 dollars, you could use some pretty basic sales copy, or even the usually supplied sales copy, and make money.

    Rinse and repeat.

I dont know where I can get one of those. I googled Plr and sounds good but I have no idea about it.

Flipping websites look really difficult too. I'm starting to give up about this

Are those Pay per click, getting paid by taking surveys real?.Where can I earn money by posting?
Not a lot of money, but that's the only thing i can think of right now.

I am failing at this and its very discouraging

Speaking of focus, with so many options to make money online - focus is key. (Thats what i learned when i 1st started). You want to choose a niche and a business model, and work on that one project all the way from start to profit. Don't let all the other options distract you.

The absolute easiest way to make money online is with Affiliate Marketing. You don't have to create a product. (thats why i recommend it)

I know this is stating the obvious, but it should be said:

It takes time, work, and being both persistent and consistent. An online business is the same as any other business in that it requires an investment on your part to get it up and running. But the bonus here is you get your goals in less time

So My Friend NEVER EVER GIVE UP, because starting is always the Hardest !

What would i need to do in affiliate marketing, exactly? Sorry if the question is kinda stupid, but I've read a lot about A.M. But i don't understand how this exactly work.

Thanks for you words. This is kinda frustrationg for me because i don't know what to do. I've been scammed twice in the past 2 years and we have a big debt at home for that reason and I get more frustrated everyday. And I am desperate to start with this as soon as possible too.

Do thorough RESEARCH if you decide to purchase a system. There are tons of products online that claim you can make thousands a day. All tho that may be true however, you MUST apply yourself accordingly. The information can be overwhelming but well worth it once you understand it and it becomes fun to do, especially when the money rolls in!

But yea, do your research. Go with products that have more good reviews then bad. There will always be a bad review from someone because that person is trying to intercept you to their product.

Don't get scammed. You may come across a shiny product that look good but you end up wasting your time and it can discourage you. It sucks because there are really good products out there that can truly finance your freedom. REsearch research research, that's how I started and I've never been scammed.

    Good luck!

Clarity is a HUGE part of IM success. I hope this post brings some clarity. It's so simple when you know it -- and darn difficult when you don't! I owe my mentors a world of thanks for bringing this clarity.

IM is actually pretty simple: you can sell only one of two things:

    1. Products
    2. Services

    That's it!

And selling products or services online happens in the same basic way for everyone, no matter what they're selling:

    Traffic > Opt-in page > Autoresponder series (or e-zine) > Sales page

That's it! It's just that simple. (We IMers tend to overcomplicate things.)

But no matter what your niche is, or whether you're selling a product or a service, do you know what your business model is?

A business model is the framework or skeleton of your business. Essentially there are three types of online business models:

    1. Membership-based model

A membership-based business model allows you to build a community of people (your members) who are as passionate about your subject as you are. Your membership fees can be monthly or annual, but either way, you're building recurring, passive income.

There are a lot of resources and information out there to help you build a membership-based business if you're interested in doing this.

    2. Product-based model

Selling products allows you to maximize your time and effort by selling items over and over again. This can be hard goods or it can be information products. Information marketing is it's own business model under the product-based model. Information marketing allows you to take your brain to the bank by creating a product ONCE based on what you know and selling it over and over again.

Affiliate marketing falls under both models. You can choose to market either products or services as an affiliate.

    3. Service-based model

Selling services can be great for 1) generating quick cash (as in the case of article writing or video producing) and 2) establishing your expertise and getting testimonials.

However, in the long run, your goal should be to offer services at a PREMIUM. The biggest advantage of IM is LEVERAGE. You're able to leverage your time, money and expertise exponentially online. We all have just 24 hours each day. Time to get ruthless about what you expect for those hours you spend in IM each day. Expect more of yourself and more from your business friends, clients, partners, etc.

What results are you getting for those hours you spend online each day? Ultimately, your services should be at the bottom of your funnel and cost the most since they involve your time and personal attention. (We all have a limited amount of time each day.)

The fun (and confusion) comes in with all of the endless mix-and-match possibilities of the above models. If you're just starting or still struggling to make money, keep it simple:

    Pick just ONE!

    1. Pick ONE niche. (Something you're interested in and know something about.)

    2. Pick ONE target market for your product or service. (Who will buy what you're offering? The more specific you are, the more you narrow it down, the more successful you'll be.)

    3. Pick ONE business model.

Now that you're clear about what business you're in, FOCUS! (And stop buying any info not related to your niche and target market, period!)

    F -- Follow
    O -- One
    C -- Course
    U -- Until
    S -- Successful

And remember: build a list, Build a List, BUILD A LIST!

In IM, it's easy to put the cart before the horse. Take a deep breath, step back and consider what type of business you REALLY want. Don't worry about getting traffic or buying that expensive traffic product until you know 1) what your business model is, 2) what niche you're in and 3) WHO your target market is!

Successful business people will tell you that MARKETING is more than half the effort that's needed for success anyway. So pick a niche, target market and business model. Then spend most of your time and effort marketing it.

If you DON'T have a solid plan or system, THAT'S when it's hard. A good system will shave YEARS (and save you big $$$) off of your learning curve

That's why I recommend investing in at least one good, comprehensive IM course (or mentor who will give you such a system) instead of jumping from one $37 e-book to the next. A lot of people here complain about not being able to make any money. But neither are they willing to invest in their business. (Buying a random bunch of $37 e-books doesn't count.)

The best thing I ever did was invest in a comprehensive IM course aimed at REAL business owners, not just other IM wannabes. Yes it was $1500. (It's no longer available.) But it was truly some of the best A-Z IM info I ever bought. Everything else I've learned (from the $37 e-books) since has simply been plugged into this system.

My two best recommendations for phenomenal IM training programs are Ali Brown's Elevate program (ElevateBizTraining.com) and Jeff Walker's Product Launch Formula (ProductLaunchFormula.com)

Get a solid plan or system and then work the plan!

    Hope this helps!

Affiliate marketing is a good way to start. There are an insane number of products that you can sell as an affiliate online, all you have to do is choose a Niche, know your audience and start marketing that product.

Having a blog will take longer for you to make money online but can be very profitable in the long run. The key to making money through your blog is to have good content, drive a lot of traffic to it and then monetize it with google ads or affiliate products that you promote. You can write articles about how a certain product has helped you and then just include an affiliate link to that product in your article.

If you like to write then this is definitely one of the best ways to make money online. You can go to websites like Textbroker, Elance and Odesk. You can make anywhere from 5-50 dollars per article depending on who hires you and your expertise.

And lastly, as for what you said about domains and flipping...This concept is basically what people in real estate refer to as "flipping houses". To do this just go to google and type in any keyword that people are searching for (add a city if you want). For example "Spas in Miami", "Gyms in Miami", "Lawyers in Miami". The sites on the front page of Google are getting more search traffic than sites on the 2nd or 3rd page. Pretty obvious right! Now, some of the sites on the 2nd or 3rd page might actually be better designed, have better services and better marketing than the ones on the first page. So you are going to act as the middle man and contact a site on the first page that has been sort of forgotten and not fully taken advantage of (which happens quite often) and then turn around and sell it to someone who has a good website and wants to get on the first page of Google.

    Hope this helps.

Reverse engineer what makes other successful marketer where
they are today. Sure people say follow your passion but what if
your "passion" isn't really all that profitable?

Find the products that you'll like to promote first that is
the highest converting in the niche you are interested in.

Oh, and build that list too.

    Hi and welcome!

You've been given lots of answers to your question. There is no "best way" because we all have different "best ways". It is frustrating, especially when you need to make money now.

You said that you're going to look at setting up a Fiverr account next week. You need money now so do it now. If you put it off until next week you won't do it.

Register with as many freelance agencies as you can. You're studying graphic design so you must already have design skills - use them to make some money now. When you're registered with the agencies, go through the jobs on offer and bid for them.

As others have said, advertise your skills in Warriors for Hire - another source of earning money now.

Be positive about your skills. You can learn the other stuff later.

    Best,
    Shan

hi, if you are a graphic designer and you dont want to write ebooks then your best bet is to offer service. i would say start with fiverr and also here on this forum. start offering to do graphic designing that is one area that internet marketing can not do without. i just paid someone $5 to help me design a 3D ecover on fiverr. it just took him less than hours because he has the software and its his skill.

so read through this forum (warriors for hire) and other places. let them know you are into graphic designing. you may even offer to do some gigs for a start for free to get clients.

    i hope that helps

By adding value. Real, discernible, verifiable value to the lives of others.

And the best way to add that kind of value is to give it your all.

And the best way to give it your all is to know what it is that you enjoy and are naturally inclined towards.

There are so many ways to make money online (and offline). You'll see a million shiny objects calling for your attention. Define clearly what it is that you are naturally inclined towards and how you can leverage that to add real value to others, and the money will come.

Have a business mindset and treat it like a business.

Translation: Stop using terms like "noob." It's incredibly unprofessional.

At 25, you're an adult, old enough to act professionally even while trying to figure it out. I've paid thousands of dollars for web design and would NEVER hire any designer who talked like this.

I'm not just being "mean." Professionalism is critically important when trying to land clients.

Outsource the creation of your Ebook, as well as a website.

If you have both in place (you've probably read this advice a 100 times if you investigated this) start to build a list, and start selling and most of all providing value to that list.
