ClickBank Frontend Freebie?

Hello Warriors,

Hopefully some of you have managed to setup this funnel structure for yourself at sometime or another.

Firstly, there's not much point me going into detail here about what my product is about, but basically what I would like to know is, is there a way to setup a frontend free giveaway (ebook) via ClickBank that will lead to an upsell page and then a downsell page?

I know CB have pitchplus to handle upsells and downsells, but I also know that CB don't allow frontend free giveaways, because from my research, the minimum I can charge for a frontend offer is around the $4.95 mark.

But I don't want to charge $4.95 for my frontend offer. I want to be able to give it away for free in return for the visitors name and email address. BUT at the same time, if affiliates are driving traffic to my landing page I DO NOT want them to loose out on their commissions if they drive their traffic to my freebie frontend offer.

The funnel structure I have in mind is as follows:
Traffic comes to my site and optin to download my frontend ebook
Before they access the download, they're presented with a monthly membership offer (upsell).
They pass on the upsell and they're then presented with the same membership offer but with an initial small price 7 day trial offer (downsell).
They pass on that and they access their free ebook download
.
BUT
If any of the individuals do take advantage of my membership offer and they were sent to my site by an affiliate, how would the affiliates be credited their due commissions?

Now, whether or not I'm overthinking this and I can't see the wood for the trees is probably debatable, nevertheless, from what I can remember with clickbank, they have to see your landing page to approve your product.

So another thought would be to setup my upsell as my main product on CB and have the downsell setup in pitchplus. But the problem I see here is the affiliate link CB generates for people wanting to promote my product will take people to my product that would be setup in CB (the membership offer and NOT my frontend free giveaway).

I hope I'm making sense with all this guys and girls?

Anyway, I'd love to hear if there's any simple solution to this ;-)

Mark

There are scripts that allow you to cookie affiliates when you send them to your optin page. You may have noticed that most salespages make people optin before they ever see the offer.

They are using a script that cookies their affiliates.

I don't what script it is..But if you do some searching on google, I am sure you can find one.

Ps..Why is it important that you use clickbank?

      Thanks for your reply webmarke,

Yeah I figured it was all to do with cookies, but what you're suggesting I don't think overcomes my problem, because the frontend giveaway will not be in the CB marketplace. To answer your question, I'd like to stick with CB for the sake of their great affiliate program and how they take care of all that side of things without me having to worry about the affiliates getting their due commissions, not to mention their long term reputation.

I know the funnel I'm trying to setup is easily do-able via JVZoo which also involves cookie-ing the affiliates traffic, but I feel that there are more affiliates in general that will promote CB products over JVZoo products, which, at the end of the day, it's all a numbers game and everyone wants larger numbers.

Anyone feel free to chip in with this, but the only way I could see might possibly work is if I implemented a redirect to my squeeze page after CB had approved my membership offer sales page? And if this did work, would CB frown upon this method, plus, would the affiliates sending the traffic still be cookied after the redirect?

        Yes - do that.

Then use a script such as easyClickMate which will allow you to direct affiliates to any page on your site such as your optin page.

The marketplace entry would have to be the main product as you know and not the frontend giveaway but you could give your affiliates the choice of which to link to.

For all the reasons discussed and explained in such detail in all the threads like this one, few, if any, serious, pro-affiliates of ClickBank products will be willing to promote a product with a vendor's opt-in on its sales page. The potential affiliates effectively lost by this arrangement are very likely to include the 5% or so who collectively bring in over 95% of the sales.

Just my 2 cents but try and stay away from affiliate products that try and get email addresses right away. Geez...really bugs me that the optin forms are right in your face 2 seconds after arriving on the sales page.

Hey man. I really don't like the idea of promoting an affiliate product that builds the list for the vendor first. So many things can go wrong for us affiliates

I would say set up the funnel with an immediate product and set the freebie as the exit pop.

Most affiliate would rather promote a CPA offer where they get paid for the leads..

Hey Mark why don't you set the upsell as the first product and then offer them the downsell.

But for the ebook , i would suggest you can use that on the exit page .

For example you send the traffic to your upsell( I'm assuming this as your Front end) , then if the person didn't buy it
They will be shown the downsell

and if the person don't want that too then you can use pop - up exit page to show your eBook and give them the opportunity to download for free.

Any real solution to this yet? I'm in the same situation: I want to give away a health related meditation audio on ClickBank (No op-tin, just straight free download), but before the user downloads it, he's presented with the opportunity to buy a package of 4 other meditation audios (finances, success, self-esteem, and Love) at a discounted price. If the person does not take advantage of the upsell, he's then redirected to the free download. No email capture form, no catch.

But that real no fuss freebie is the hook.

If anyone has advice on this I'd really appreciate it. God bless.

    Mike.

  • Affiliate commissions are usually tracked though ''cookies''
And these ''cookies'' stay with the IP address, so the affiliate does get credited for the sale

I managed to solve it. I made my landing page and the "Download" button goes straight to my OTO page. There I present the visitor with 2 options. Buy an upsell or just get their freebie. If they choose "just give me my freebie", they get taken to the download page. This process is not tied to ClickBank. But if they choose the upsell, that particular link belongs to one of my "Pitch Plus Upsell Flows" I had already set up for another similar product (with no freebie). And it worked! I tested it and ClickBank charges just for the Upsell, no front end product. I hope this helps everyone with the same problem. God bless!
