How I Made $10,735.22 In 3 Days!

Dear spammers, scammers and trolls.

As a public service to the morally disadvantaged, I am giving you a template for your fly-by-night forum sting.

STEP 1

Write a headline with "How I Made X Money In X Days!"

Make sure the amount is high enough to get people's greed receptors going, but not so high that it's an obvious scam. The amount should also be an odd number with dollars and cents so it seems more realistic.

The time period should also be short to cater for lazy victims (sorry, customers) with goldfish attention spans. For claims of $1,000 - $3,000 it's OK to use 48 hours. For more than $3,000 you should use a much longer time period, say, 3 or 4 days. 5 days or more makes it sound too much like a job and nobody will buy.

Use an exclamation mark to emphasize how amazing your feat is!

STEP 2

Paste a photoshopped screen shot of your Paypal/Clickbank account

HERE

If you are doctoring a Clickbank cheque make sure there is enough time between the date of the earnings and today's date for a real cheque to have actually arrived via post. Most people know that cheques don't come overnight by email.

STEP 3

Actually, chronologically, this should be Step 1.

Using a proxy/dynamic ISP create a few acounts at the Warrior Forum a couple of months before you intend to fleece (sorry, help) people. Keep your nose clean. Make a few nice posts. Thank a few people.

Once you post your thread use these 'shill' accounts to praise you to high heaven and, more importantly, to attack any busybodies who have the sheer cheek to suggest you are doing something wrong.

STEP 4

If the thread survives the first 10 posts, add a link to your WSO.

STEP 5

Keep your WSO link until you get attacked by at least two Forum heavyweights. Then remove it and retire from the thread. If you try to defend yourself it gives people more rope to hang you.

STEP 6

Focus on the WSO. Use the Thanks button for everybody who posts and post saying thank you as well. You've got to get to the all-important 50 posts to add a second page. 2 pages = more social proof.

If anybody attacks you in your WSO thread try to sound reasonable. You have 3 lines of defence.

1. Accuse them of trying to ruin your WSO and threaten to report them to Admin.

2. Shrug it off. "This guy is a well-known troll. What can a poor, simple guy like me do?"

3. Throw dirt. "This guy is actually a famous Russian hacker. Give me 24 hours (to rake in more money) and I'll prove it to you."

STEP 7

This is your ace in the hole and you really don't want to use it unless you have to.

It's your treasured IM guru account.

A year ago you actually created a really good WSO and made lots of useful posts. You even built a list and sent them decent info ("Hmm, I actually made a lot of money from this. Maybe I should do it more often").

This is the account you use to come in and tell everybody "Hey, you know me. Honest Joe Marketer. I bought this WSO and it's fantastic. Deal of the century."

If you use Step 7 you might be able to salvage Honest Joe Marketer. When the scam is discovered you can join in the hue and cry and say how much money you got taken for.

STEP 8

Rinse and repeat with different usernames.

    Thanks Martin

You're truly a generous guy - most people would've packaged this up and sold it for $197 but here you are giving it to the world for free.

I'm choking up here with your display of philanthropy.

Good stuff. I'm trying to be cynical, but it's hard to keep up

Thanks Martin, I was looking for a comprehensive business plan to follow. You should have sold this as a WSO.
As an upsell, would you be willing to go back in time a few months and create some shill accounts for me? That would be worth 7 dollars easily.

      Kevin,

That would be too much hard work. I think the easiest thing to do would be to get a hack into this site.

I think I'd have to charge more than 7 dollars, though.

Funny...I was coming in to report you.

A lot of people don't understand this is happening. There a lot of newbs that will read the posts, and visit the WSO and buy...without ever registering at the forum.

So thanks, Martin, for exposing this scam.

Oh, I feel so foolish. Now I know what happened to me.

Until now I just thought WSO's were over-hyped garbage of low value. (Step by step plan to make $9000 this month). They are consistently over-hyped old rehashed information, and so basic that only newbies would benefit.

Last month decided I never to buy hyped WSOs. They are so obviously BS, just read the title. If it sounds too good to be true...

So, you want to sell me another way to easily make "X" dollars in "X" days? ROFL too funny! IM success requires hard work and lots of time. Most newbies do not survive the steep learning curve. Anyone who says otherwise is probably selling you a fantasy.

All good, highly relative points here and detailed cynicism does have its place. However we should be aware that to much can some times distort our attitudes and cause us hard. And basically we know that we are not going to change some human beings. So sort it out - dump the xxxx and steady goes the course.

    Martin,

Your status as a true info guru marketeer has been taken into the stratosphere, with this one mind boggling post. And frankly I'm quite that you revealed all my secrets to every unsuspecting Tom, Dick and Harry and don't forget the Annies, Sally, Molly and Tina :p:p

Your attention to detail speaks of much experience in using this corrupted business plan, to fleece the suckers err warriors.

However, I think Tina could have at least waited a little bit to call you on the carpet for old rehashed content as quickly as she did. Hmm! does this mean we can report her for personal attacking such a grand marketing fleece plan?

What we really need to do is create a mastermind group here, and launch a membership site on exactly how to do this - we could also create an entire series of webinars, and get all of the "REAL GURUS" to send out 35 emails a day to their lists to launch it.....;-)

oh wait...I think that's been done already too.........

    Another one to add

Step 10 - Compose a notepad document with prewritten copy that will become a new post querying why the thread got nuked. Act all innocent and hurt and explain that you were only trying to help.

Get your 'shill' accounts to once again back you with cries of 'newbie attack', 'unfair' and 'elitism'.

I hope this addition will earn me a couple of Penny Blacks or maybe a handful of Penny Reds.

  • What's the point in being an unethical scammer? That's certainly no way to run a business. Pretty pointless. Is this the society one wants to create for the Internet? One where people get scammed and it scares them away from ever venturing back to the world of online purchases? This is EXACTLY why people are becoming even more brand conscious and why it makes it even harder for the little guy to develop a presence. Why buy from Joe's Bookstore who is new when I know EXACTLY what to expect from Barnes and Noble?

Scams are lame attempts to make money by people who have no real talent.

      Ken,

      You don't understand the formula.

For sums of $20,000+ you have to give a longer timescale. To earn $23,429.93 in 1 1/2 days you would have do at least 4 hours' work.
Who would want to work that much for such a pittance?

As per Step 6, I was trying to thank everybody in the thread and my Thanks button stopped working.

What kind of democracy is this forum when you can't say thank you willy nilly to everyone? It's getting like the Oscars where you only have time to thank your mum, dad and your analyst before they cut your speech short.
