What Motivates You, Only Money??

Just curious what drives all of you to make it in this business.

This applies to successful and non successful people. What gives you that drive to keep going.

I know a lot of people it`s the money.

For me, it`s not that at all.
This is what motivates me

- The freedom
- Helping others, making a difference in someone elses life
- The challenge, how many times did you want to quit?
- Learning something new everyday
- surrounding yourself with successful and positive people.

Obviously money is important, I need to be able to pay for my expensive and provide for my family. But for me it`s not about making 7 figure incomes.

I`m curious to see what drives you guys

Cheers, JeanMarc

I don't rely too much on motivation, I have my "why" and I'm very self-disciplined, so I just do what I have to do.

Basically, I know that I want a better lifestyle and more freedom for myself and my family and I know that more money is necessary in order to live my desired lifestyle.

I also enjoy working for myself a lot more than taking orders from somebody else while making them richer.

The thing i like the most about internet marketing is the fact that it's a job which enables you to help other people in the process. Providing value for other people that might change their lives is a thought that makes me keep going every day.

My initial motives to start online were the usual ideas of freedom, no more 9-5, traveling etc. but my mindset switched once i achieved my personal goals.

For me it is definitely not only the money.
I love playing online games, so I have created a game site with the games that I like.
This way I earn money and at the same time enjoy my hobby.

Money is the driving factor behind what I do. I want to be successful in making money online so I can live the life I want to live. I want my own business and not have to work for someone else.

I once spoke to a guy who told me he was a successful businessman. I asked him what kind of business he owned, he told me he worked in insurance and was getting great perks and good pay. He seemed a little miffed when I pointed out that he was a successful employee not businessman.

    What motivates me?
Life is a series of experiences.
Some are out of our control, some are not.
I try to exercise as much control over my experiences and those I love as possible.
The more success I have and that I bring to others the more control I have on my experiences.
Given the choice I would rather my kids have someone they can turn to if they need help.
I prefer to be able to say yes to my wife if she wants to take a last minute trip.
Financial success grants you some powers.
Intellectual stimulation and continued learning makes you a better person.
Winning at business is just plain fun!

The money is simply a tool to work with.
Some people are ruined by money some use it as a vehicle for themselves and others around them.

Money is something that different people will have different uses for, and views of.
We're ALL in it to make money; it's what the money AFFORDS us to do, is the real motivation...and that will be different for everyone.

    Money is everything man.

Even if you have every intention of helping people...

You can best accomplish that if you have lots of money.

No matter WHAT your intentions, and goals are - money will help you better accomplish it.

Call me a grinch, or scrooge, or whatever. (But do so in folly; I'm actually overly generous to a FAULT)...

At the end of the day, the truth is that money can help anyone better accomplish their goals. (It doesn't matter if you want to lose weight, save the planet, get more free time, or finally realize "freedom"; money is the currency that can statistically enable feasibility across the board).

It suits me, ever since I was little I've been an entrepreneur. Selling paperclip necklaces, selling gum, games, cards, manual labor, wet wipes as "candy", even literally selling the shiniest piece of trash I found. I really don't think I've ever went a year in my life without a new business idea since I was 7 years old. Usually selling to less intelligent children. Getting people excited with an idea that I have seems to come naturally to me.

So naturally I enjoy the work, its great I couldn't see myself doing anything else ever. Researching information and making my own schedule from what I've learned is great. The endless amount of information and methods to learn is great. Having people twice my age asking to work for me is great, using my mind to work instead of my hands is great. Seeing the line graph go up and up every day is great. The amount of money I make comes from how smart I am and how hard I work. Its so much different than the only other job I've ever had which was McDonalds. Where I stand there saying the same shit over and over again making someone else more money than they are paying me and pretending to enjoy being there.

But after reading these responses I'm realizing what truly motivates me is kind of immature. I very much enjoy the work, But honestly I just want to live the millionaire playboy lifestyle. I want to party, alot. I want to travel all over to the best night life Vegas, Bangkok, Amsterdam, etc. I want to throw huge parties at my house where I supply everything, like Gatsby. I want my girl to have the best clothes and jewelry, I want to drive that car people turn heads at, I want my maid to feed me caviar with a golden spoon.

Basically I want to live the Wolf of Wallstreet. And won't stop until I do

THAT made me smile and is the most honest comment so far.

What motivates me? Money, an income to pay the bills. That and the fear of having to go back to work for 'someone'. Having to be an employee again. Unfortunately, that day is looming..

I like to break my motivation into two categories, "Why" and "Mission".

    Why encompasses:
    • Ability to live where I want, when I want.
    • Buying my wife a house, with CASH!
    • Providing a great life for my kids. (Disneyland included.)

    Mission equals:

"Helping 10 people break free from their job this year, by living their passion."

When you get the "Why" and the "Mission" right, the Big Picture comes into focus.

Motivation is both the desire and willingness to do something. It's what gets you started and keeps you going.

Same here, it's my family that motivates me the most. I am just so thankful my wife is so supportive. She motivates me to keep going and pushing me to pursue my dreams.

I want to provide a better life for my family and I can't do it without money.

What's more, I am motivated by my friends and relatives. If I face a critical problem, they are there giving valuable encouragement.

I am motivated by my dreams as well and I work with sincere heart toward achieving them.

    What motivates me?

    - Family. (I support my Mom. I want her to live a comfortable old age.)
    - Freedom. (I want to stop worrying about money.)
    - Helping people. (I want my products and services to really help people. Nothing gives me more pleasure than knowing that I've helped someone. Also, when I'm already earning at least five figures in dollars, I want to start a charity in my hometown. I want to take kids off the streets and help them have a better future.)

Ill be totally honest. I'm motivated every day to do well for one reason and one only. Money. Now some people will say its also freedom however money = freedom. Honestly money is not a bad reason to want to do well.

    Money=freedom
    Money=food on my table
    Money=clothes on my kids backs
    Money=a roof over our heads.

There is nothing wrong at all by being motivated by money .. provided you use the motivation to excel in your chosen venue. Its only when someone becomes so obsessed with 'more money' that they will do anything to get it that there is a problem.

So for me, I am 100% motivated by money. But I am not obsessed with it and I will not let it effect my morals.

Strangely money, freedom, etc is not the driving force in my business.

I get a buzz in creating something from nothing, and doing everything I can to build it into a thriving business. In our case we're working on a business that has both a physical and online store,
We are attempting to build a brand, and are having to overcome plenty of problems to make it a success.
But that is the driver for us. As one boutique starts making a regular profit, we look in surrounding areas to see if we can set up another. We hope to be opening in Cannes soon.

In reality we treat money as a tool that we use to achieve our goal of running a small but successful chain of boutiques..

There is going to be a lot of irony in my response the more I think about it.

When I didn't really need money (during the time when I was a successful Internet marketer) money was my only motivation to doing what I was doing, not for the money itself but for what it could get me, including the freedom to not have to work a lousy job.

Now that my business has tanked and I'm starting over, money is not my soul motivation. Yes, I need it, more now than ever, but I won't do anything to get it. I need to be doing something I really love, which is why I've gone into the royalty free music business. Yes, of course I want it to succeed, but succeed or not, I wouldn't do anything else even if it was a guaranteed income.

      Why?

Because at my age I can no longer do something I don't enjoy. It's not in me anymore

Hopefully, my new business will take off and I'll have the best of both worlds. But if it doesn't, there is no going back to creating informational products and dealing with the IM make money niche.

I am SO done with it.

      The only objective is happiness.

If you have not heard the John Lenin story this says it all.

As a lad in school, he was given a paper that asked one question. "What do you want to be when you grow up?"

Johns one word reply was "Happy".

The teacher aloud in class said "John, I don't think you understand the meaning of the question".

To which John replied "I don't think you understand the meaning of life".

Ok so what is driving me into this..

    Hmmm..

I think first of all is that I am constantly learning a lot of new things and I have to think about new and innovative solutions.

Secondly I love to learn and to aim towards mastering something because I feel that need to share with others what I know and how everyone can apply that knowledge in order to make their life better.

I also like very much the idea about being free to do whatever I want, whenever I want without having a constant pain in the ass (a boss)

Of course that another reason is money but I believe that if you do something valuable the money will come too.

You are being Greedy. Nobody mentioned "SECURITY" "HEALTH", "FREEDOM". These are the most important things.

Viewing money in a NON spiritual (=materialistic way), will come against your way as Greediness a kind of compulsion, neurosis, etc...........

Other people will see it as selfishness and they will come against your way too. Somebody said that money buys everything that attracts. It attracts jealousy, resentment and all sorts of drama.....

I know I can't make the whole world wealthy but I know that I can make a difference in peoples lives day by day.
