What does your portfolio primarly consist of?

- Amazon Sites
- Clickbank etcc sites
- AdSense Sites

How many of them are
Targeted, Niche, Authorty Assests?

For instance i personally own 3 assets, working on the 4th
- 1 adsense site in a targeted market
- 1 authority project in development that is currently monetized with adsense
- 1 amazon product review site
- and am working on some pinterest/social media driven project

So id say 70% adsense
1 targeted
1 authority

30% niche/affiliate
1 amazon product review

I actually am in the works of clearing out old properties (sites/domains). I want to slim down and focus on quality more than quantity.

I'm going to work on spreading out my income sources as I don't want too many eggs in any one basket. Currently I have a couple sites making sales through JVzoo. I am working on building an email list that will ideally generate affiliate sales through ClickBank and JVZoo.

I have started an Amazon Associates site. Once I have some income from these I plan on purchasing an Adsense site or two.

I have a JV Network service similar to JVZoo and I'm launching a self hosted software probably in July that will pay pay affiliates instantly at the point of sale with a PayPal API that I created and PayPal has approved so I can add more security to the system.

I have several membership sites that were actually tests for my software because it will build membership sites.

I will be focusing on the new software as I can branch off to other sub businesses from there very easily.

I use my software to run all my sites. It is even the base software running the JV Network.

I'm a big believer in memberships and services because they keep paying month after month. The JV Network is actually my no cost and low cost product for my software.

    Best regards,
    Steve Yakim

I'm an affiliate marketer, so primarily (in income terms), of course, my "portfolio" comprises my lists - not my websites.

I don't have "Amazon sites" or "ClickBank sites".

I do make my full-time living from affiliate marketing of ClickBank and Amazon products, so I'm pretty familiar with the fact that it isn't really the websites that make the sales: it's the emails. Sure, I have affiliate-links on my websites, and thousands of people click on them, but the people who click those links and buy the products are, of course, the people who have got to those links by following a link to that page in an email I've sent them (having given me their email addresses at an earlier visit to the site).

That's why I have content-rich "niche websites" whose primary purpose is to collect the visitors' email addresses simply by showing them that I have a content-rich site.

Not "ClickBank websites" or "Amazon websites".

And not squeeze pages (different people opt in to those: more of them, but they're people who don't buy nearly as much, so squeeze pages cost me money, in the long run).

All of them, to some extent.

It depends what you mean by "authority site". (It can be argued that it takes 8 years or so to build a true "authority site", and that the age is actually an integral part of the "authoritative recognition factors" that determine that. I'm not convinced that, for affiliate marketers, it's actually a very productive or meaningful concept.)

I think you're right to look at your websites as part of the assets of your business. But if you're in affiliate marketing, in income-value they're really a very minor asset compared with your lists, aren't they?

You can make some money in affiliate marketing with a list and without a website. To try to do it the other way round isn't so easy at all!

I don't use AdSense at all, myself. These are very different sites, of course. Sites for affiliate marketing and sites for AdSense income need to have entirely different designs. It's obvious, if you look at the conflicting objectives involved, I think?

With AdSense, you get paid when people leave your site (by clicking on an ad.)

With affiliate marketing, you get paid (usually much more, and usually much more slowly) when you build relationships with people, whom you therefore want to stay on your site for as long as possible.

Two very different objectives for the traffic, there, and therefore two very different design aims, for the websites.

I appreciate that some people do make some money through AdSense, but it's always seemed to me that it's a tiny fraction of the potential income from successful affiliate marketing. So, call me biased, but it's not for me.

We sell a CMS that people buy and download. But more recently we have moved into the Software as a Service model for a new software product. We sell our own advertising on a third property, and also make a small amount on adsense. I too have some old domains that I need to scrap, but too busy with the ones that are doing well!

It is okay to contact me! I have been developing software since 1999, creating many popular products like phpLD.

I am an affiliate marketer and my main focus these days is making money from online network marketing/residual income.

I used to make money from one time commission affiliate programs but those days are long gone. I am ONLY focusing on RESIDUAL INCOME.

I have way too many domains. I've been killing some off as the domains expire.

After the carnage of the Google updates I can see that my main, un-SEO'd site is doing well, and this is where I will focus my efforts. In fact I might have a good chance in this niche, as I'm just about the only site owner in the niche who can build his own site. My competitors are stuck with the sites they had built for them 5 or even 10 years ago.

We've got a few brand sites, niche sites, and then huge email lists in a variety of niches.

Aside from that, if we've got tons of landers in multiple niches where we drive traffic to, and then send to either aff. products or our own products/services.
