Online advertising methods with low cost targeted traffic

I own a small online selling niche physical products, I've been using Adzuum.com for a short while, which has delivered good returns and I'm looking at what other methods I can use as I want to spread my options.

What I like about Adzuum is that they allow you to target users by location and interest, and I'm wondering if there is a similar way of advertising online with the ability to select who you're targeting.

I've tried Facebook before, but I haven't had much luck with this medium as the drop off rate is pretty high, cost of traffic is too expensive and I have had comments on ads saying they don't want to see my ads on their page.

Can anyone make recommendations?

One of the best methods (although a bit time consuming) is finding forums/message boards where your customers hang out.

Add your website link to your signature and start helping people!

The idea is to provide value to people and position yourself as a person of knowledge.

The more you help, the more people will appreciate you and a few will be interested and click your link.

So for example, if you're selling a dog training e-book, search Google for "Dog Training Forum" or "dog training help forum", etc. Again, it takes time, but the traffic is super targeted.

Also, be sure you're collecting e-mails addresses before sending people to the product page. Most won't buy when they first see it, so you need to continue exposure to them through e-mail marketing....

    Hope that helps.

Social Media can also help. Create your own pages on Facebook, Twitter, Google+ etc. Get out there and network with others. Join groups where others might share an interest in your niche. Don't spam. Like other people's posts and pages too.

It can take some work, but it's a great way to get quality traffic to your sites and blogs.

Social networking is one of the best ways of creating an efficient online presence. Make sure to create a professional profile and keep posting updates in the profile. This will help in holding the interest of the people in your network.

Thanks guys. The problem I have with free social marketing is that there is very little engagement and the paid ones cost a lot with little result. Any more recommendations?
