PayPal Limits and/or Suspensions

Hi everyone,

I'm completely new to IM and I'm trying to make sure I have my ducks in a row before setting out to try to make money online. I've heard and read stories of Internet Marketers who've had their PayPal accounts suspended for long periods of time after receiving a large influx of money from a product launch or new campaign. I read somewhere that before such an event, in order to prevent PayPal from suspending or limiting my account, I had to notify them that there would be a large influx of orders. Is this right?

Does anyone here have experience with a PayPal suspension?

How did you resolve the matter?

Were you able to prevent future suspensions for the same type of large influx?

If so, what steps did you take?

What type of PayPal account is recommended, Standard, Advanced, or Pro? I currently have a standard account.

I did a search for "PayPal" in the forums section and "PayPal Suspension" in the blogs section and came up with zero results. If I need to look elsewhere, please point me in the right direction. Thank you in advance for any and all constructive input.

    Honestly Jeremy, give them a call.
    Explain what you want to do and they will help/advise you how to proceed.
    I have found Paypal support friendly and helpful whenever i had need to contact them.
    People have this inherant fear of contacting Paypal but i assure you it's the best thing to do...

    I have a personal PayPal representative so I don't have to worry about suspensions, frozen or limited accounts.

    What you can do is go into your PayPal account and raise your sales limit that you have in place when you opened your account.

    When you have a large influx on income, be sure to open every email from PayPal. Most of the time, the merchant has missed an important email from PayPal that needs immediate attention.

    I would also call PayPal and tell them what is happening that you have gone past the limit that you have set and get some one to listen to what you are saying.

    If it is an very large amount then you may have to go through an underwriting review.

    We did over $65,000 in under 2 weeks and that sparked an underwriting review. But the PayPal account was not limited or restricted.

    In fact the processing fee that we were being charged went down as did our restriction of 10%. This is the amount of each sale that PayPal will hold for 90 days.

    You just need a business account and get it verified. So a verified business account is all you need unless you need to use PayPal's, "PayPal Here" to take payments over your cell phone. then you will need a Pro account.

    If you are going to get a lot of transactions through PayPal, I would call them up and talk to them about this. It is better to be safe then sorry.

    Been using them for over 2 years now actively, launched products and other services and never had problem with them.

    I personally think you should avoid offers with high rate of charge backs in order not to raise red flags.

    Your going to have to verify everything, explain to them what you do, and keep a balance in the account and them hold $$. Its a pain really.. if your going to be doing any real volume I would recommend a merchant account and only use paypal for sales in more social/feedback driven marketplaces like eBay.

    Great advice given! One very important thing also is to NOT take out all your money right away. Keep at least 50% or more and w/draw gradually.

    If you plan on moving large amounts of money through your account, you should have a business Paypal account. I've been with them for years with no problems.

    I am using Paypal and having good experience until now i am using standard account and have $500 limit i will increase the limit as i needed all its up to me that how much i want to get out of it

    Jeremy, give them a call and I am sure that they would understand.
    To be on the safer side, do not withdraw all of the money from your PayPal account right away. Do it in parts - distributed over a weeks timeframe.

    My account once got suspended over a spike in sales during a weekend which were followed by a couple of disputed. As I had no balance left (I had withdrawn all of it), my account was suspended and all I had to do was to speak to a PayPal support executive to sort things out.
