How to Set-Up a Successful WSO?

What makes a WSO sell well? Do you really need affiliates to sell many copies or can a WSO just sell by itself in the WSO section?

Yes jerytohn, affiliates are paramount if you want to have a successful WSO launch. The days of build and they will come are long gone when it comes to WSOs. In fact return on investment for wso bump fees these days are miniscule, if you do make a return at all that is.

You might want to start contacting possible affiliates personally and post your launch at sites such as JVNotifyPro, WarrioeJV, Muncheye etc..

Aside from affiliates having good sales copy is imperative for short term ans long term purposes.

    All the best

It's like any other sales-page: if you drive enough targeted traffic to it, and it converts well, you make money.

Don't imagine that "just being listed in the Warrior Forum" is in itself necessarily going to make it profitable, though. That can happen if some combination of factors arises ...
    • you're already well-known and well-respected here by the local traffic
    • there's particular demand for what you're selling
    • you pay to "bump" the thread frequently to try to catch "casual traffic"
    • you pay to "sticky" the thread
    ... and so on.

    Without
some combination of those factors, I think it's very unlikely to sell itself without affiliates to drive targeted traffic for you by email marketing.

I suspect, also (from what many people have told me), that having testimonials in the thread from well-known, respected, trusted Warriors who have both (a) bought and paid for the product and (b) used it and commented on the results they've achieved with it, is probably the "single biggest factor" in how appealing it is. I think that criterion is probably even more important than the sales post. (There are many WSO's listed with endorsements only from unknown Warriors who post only in the WSO folder to offer incentivized "review-copy reviews" and clearly haven't yet had time to use whatever-it-was; understandably, those products/services tend barely to sell at all, as is fairly evident from their threads. It may well even be that "testimonials" of that kind are actually a liability, rather than an asset.)

Alexa is spot on - the first bullet point in my opinion is the MOST important IF you were JUST going to use the WSO section for local traffic.

People will buy from you based on their confidence that the product or service you have will help them reach their intended goal.

That of course means that you need to have some "authority" in the niche, and the way you do that is by releasing content that helps them get closer to their goal again and again.

In short, if you JUST release a product/service hoping that people will flock to it and buy because it is in the WSO section you may make a few sales but might not do as well as you hope.

Selling a WSO can be awesome as everyone here is looking to make money online, however it IS marketing, you will need to have authority, a decent product/service, a list helps, and a decent sales page.

Have a look at the top WSO's and see WHY they are selling, who is releasing them and what they write and talk about and you will get an idea.

      Good Luck!

      All the best,

      Chris Jones

MunchEye & WarriorJV have been productive for me, and other sites like JVNotofyPro are out there as well. Reach out to marketers that you know, reach out to other marketers in your sector, use FB groups that you may be a part of, ask for affiliates on your product's website page etc. etc. If you want to you can put an affiliate signup link on your product thank you page as well.

      Cheers

If you know how to identify a demand, you should be successful with your WSO. Try to stay aware of trends and offer something people want, simple as that.

How to's are extremely popular, anything offering a simple formula should be a success.

I was successful with my first WSO, though I admit not having affiliates was a big mistake. I still managed to make money, but I made some mistakes that I will correct next time.

The most important thing is to not get in your way and just do it. You really have nothing to lose.

For an offer to be successful you need to drive a lot of traffic to it. The 'warmer' that traffic is, generally speaking, the better it will convert. That is why affiliates are the best type of traffic you can use during a launch and will often determine the success of your launch.

In all my launches it has always been the affiliates that take it to the next level.
