Paypal account banned, what to do?

Hi all,

My personal paypal account was banned about 2 years ago for breaching trademark rights selling some products on ebay. They were genuine products but I relalised after that I needed to be an approved distributor to sell them.

(Yes I know that was stupid but let's not go into that now)

Since then I have tried to setup other accounts just to sell personal home items but they have all eventually been banned to because of having the previous account.

I am now struggling to come up with any kind of solution as I desperately need a new paypal account to use for business purposes and accept payments from various freelancer websites and directly from clients. Is there any possible way I can setup a new account solely for the purpose of using it under my company name without getting banned?

A lot of websites seem to be only using paypal so one way or another I'm going to have to come up with a solution.

I'd appreciate any advice...

It's probably not going to be easy, quick or cheap to do it effectively and safely, but I think it may be possible to do this, for a PayPal business account, using a limited liability company of which your accountant (for example) is the "named director", and without your own name showing on the company's bank account name (even if you yourself are the party authorized to sign checks etc. on behalf of the company). There are certainly some "company formation services" around (including in the UK) who purport to offer such facilities as subsidiary services to people who have been banned by PayPal. How compliant such services are with PayPal's terms of service, I don't know. Professional advice may help. "Proceed with caution" is probably the order of the day, though?

    Good luck!

Try writing a formal and professional letter to Paypal. Maybe let your lawyer do it. I don't know if that is gonna help, but sometimes companies that are reached out to in this way, might react different.

Trying to get rid of the old issue first, would be the best solution.

I think that you should call them up and have them view your old account that was banned.

If you communicate with them through the phone, this may help you get your account back up.

Hope it works out for you.
