Question for all you affiliate marketers.

Well, me and my friend decided we want to try affiliate marketing, and building a list, iv spent the last three months learning about this, my friend don't know to much yet, I am teaching him everything that I know. Well I will get to my question now! Should I make it look like i am selling a product on the main page or make it look like i am giving away free info, so that I can get a list built, then try to sell to them after they opt in.

I guess what i am trying to ask is should my main page be a sales page or an opt in page that redirects to my sales page after, or should my sales page also be the opt in page offering a bonus? what method works best for you?

As long as you can generate targeted visitors to any page you like, it's could be time to build your lists.

Building you lists is just about the most productive thing you can learn how to do for long term stability of your online business.

    Hope This Helps!!

I'd have an optin page instead of a sales page. You can develop a relationship with your customer over time and then sell them later. You'll make more sales and have happier buyers.

Anytime you can give away free (valuable) information you will gain creditability with your potential customer. I would suggest that you buy (PLR) or create a bonus to go with the product you are promoting. You want to make it seem the the product is almost incomplete without your bonus.

Then you can give away PART of the bonus (free preview) as an incentive for them to optin.

Once they optin you would send them to the sales page. I would then have an email in your autoresponder sent to them with the link to the sales page and offer the entire bonus if they purchase through your affiliate link. Again, if you make it seem like the product is incomplete or less valuable without your bonus it will really increase your conversions. You can have them email you the transaction number to claim the bonus after the purchase.

      Hope this helps.

An opt in page for sure. If you can build up a relationship and perhaps more importantly, trust with your leads then you will have more chance of selling product(s), assuming the product(s) is good

          Dude,
Why don't you do the opt-in page with a OTO after the opt-in, and then continue to build the relationship after that, with free content and affiliate offers after that...

Like after the opt in tell them they can get a bonus report or something like that if they purchase right now?

Well! I think it depends on the circumstances. If it is a long time shot then you can make it a info page, if you think you can manage the customers in a different manner. But for the direct sale page, it would also work very fine, only that you will need to put something special there. Or it could be a special way.
