How collect payment without Paypal

by bwh1

I have a Offline client which try to pay me by CC but does not have a Paypal account, or don't want to give it's password to his secretary.

My Payment button require a Paypal account as that is the integration.

Is there a direct way to make him pay using ONLY his CC, then the money get into my PP later on after it's cleared?

I tied Zaxaa but it's only available with PP

Guess JVZoo is the same. I have my own system but all is linked to Paypal.

Have no experience with eJunkie, maybe there I can have a Payment button which is NOT linked to Paypal.

Any ideas?

He surely doesn't need a PayPal account to pay you by PayPal using a credit-card? You can send him a PayPal invoice, I think? Customers paying through PayPal, by credit-card, can do so without opening a PayPal account.

That's what I thought too but after clicking the button to the CC option it anyhow asks for a Paypal account.

His secretary has the PP account but not the password so she can't process the payment.

I will check to send to him an invoice from inside PP, let's see if that works.

      Thanks

I'm looking at the Paypal checkout page on one of my pages where I sell a report, and there are two options on the right hand side:

        1. Pay with my Paypal Account.

        2. Pay with a debit or credit card or bill me later.
(Optional: Join Paypal for faster future checkout).

If they click on the second option, they will be able to pay with a debit or credit card. One does not need a Paypal account.

However, what country are they from as that might have something to do with it.

The client is from the US. I opened my account in Paypal Switzerland, but I'm located in Brasil.

I will double check if the secretary actually went to that payment option, she told she did but you never know.

Will get back and thanks for your help

See if you can upgrade to PayPal Pro. Then use the PayPal Here App to take credit cards over your cell phone.

I do not know what the restrictions are for a Pro account if you are not in the USA.

It costs $30 a month for a Pro account. I have my Pro account on one of my PayPal child accounts so after a day all money is transferred to my parent or main PayPal account.

    I hope this is helpful,

There is a problem with using a credit card in PayPal that most people do not know. If the credit card being used to make the purchase is registered to a PayPal account, It can't be used to make a purchase from PayPal.

You are required to login to your PayPal account to make the purchase.

I discovered this when creating an app to use in purchasing through PayPal from one of my websites.

This does not happen when you use the PayPal Here App.

I talked to PayPal and they confirmed what I said above.

    I hope this is helpful,

Can someone tell's me if you see the same process.

Here's my page with the button http://www.localwebpartner.com/maintenance-plans/

At the PP checkout page I only see PAY WITH PP or DON'T HAVE A PAYPAL ACCOUNT to go further. No option to PAY WITH CC.

Now, I select that DON'T HAVE A PAYPAL ACCOUNT what requires that I give all my details and add a credit card.

Can I skip that or simply ignore the details to open a PP account?

I can't see any link to skip this account registration?

Something else, Alexa told to send an invoice, but as far as I could see there are no recurring subscriptions to be invoiced, only one time payments.

I definitely don't see this. I would call Paypal; there could be any number of reasons on why this is happening. On all my check out pages that use Paypal every single one of them gives the option to use a debit or credit card.

I also did not know you are trying to set up recurring payments. So the "PayPal Here" will not work either.

      Best regards,

If you issue a PayPal invoice to your client, via his email address, you will be able to bypass zaxaa and your client will be able to pay with credit card without having a PayPal account.

Actually I had a Paypal button first which gave me the same result, so I setup a Zaxaa button as I thought that the result is different.

Now, today I purchased a plugin over JVZoo and I could see at the Checkout page was an option to PAY WITH CC OR DEBIT CARD below the Pay With Paypal link, so there are definitely 2 different pages which customers see, depending on some variables from Paypal.

And I checked invoicing but as mentioned, you can't setup a recurring plan by sending an invoice so that won't resolve my problem right now.

      Thanks anyhow.

Yeah, I see where the problem is now.

You should contact the Zaxaa support team and advise them of your issue, so that they can make upgrades to their system.

As a Zaxaa user myself, I would prefer that they could perform at the same level as JVzoo.

Ach ... yes: for a recurring payment an invoice is no good. Clearly. Sorry, I hadn't at first realized you were trying to set up a recurring one.

So I called to Paypal US and got hold onto a PP staff member, here's what she told me.

ANY recurring payment offer requires that the client has a Paypal account. Also if he will use a CC.

No difference if you have a PP Premier or a Business account.

No difference if you use Zaxaa or JVZoo etc..only option would be to use a shopping cart which is not using PP adaptive payment like 2Checkout.

    Good to know.

Thanks to all of you for the brainstorming.

It is a Zaxaa issue. It has to do with the way they programmed their shopping cart.

Not it's not. As bwh1 above mentioned, if you use paypal to take recurring/subscription offers, you need to have a paypal account. Even if you select the "credit card/debit card" option and you enter your credit card info, paypal will create a paypal account for you.

Okay. I finally see the issue. I was wrong.

PayPal will not do the subscription without a PayPal account to hold the credit card information. It makes sense now.

User-friendly payment processosr you could start off with is 2checkout or PayStand.

There are so many out there but do your research first to make sure you go with a reliable one.

    Look into them.

This works only for one time payment, this here is a recurring charge.

I posted the reason why above.

      Thanks anyhow for helping out.

    Use Stripe.

  • The best option for you would be to go with Paypal Business ! You can upgrade the personal to business without any monthly subscription. The business account allows you to accept payments from all major credit cards.

The transaction charges are, to the best of my knowledge: 2.2% - 2.9% + 0.30$
The bigger the amount, the lower the percentage in the 2.2 - 2.9 range.
Refer to Paypal to confirm though!
