We want to track visitors who subscribe to a newsletter, then which one of those visitors buy something within the next couple weeks.

Currently, when a person purchases a product, we can see in the ecommerce goals that they came from the newsletter, but that is it. We want to take it a step further and see where they originally came from to sign up for the newsletter.

Example...

Adwords AdGroup X => Newsletter => Ecommerce sale
Adwords AdGroup Y => Newsletter => Ecommerce sale

How can we see which campaign/adgroup these sales came from when the newsletter become the referrer to the sale? Is this even possible?

In my software I have set up the eCommerce API on my thank you pages. so after they pay they land on the thank you page. That gathers the information for buyers.

    Best regards,

When they land on the thankyou page, you tag them with the referral so when they purchase something, they have the original referral?

I will need to look into that. Maybe it will work.
