And I don't just say that because I do it. Seriously, it is the ONE thing that can make such a HUGE difference on any website, regardless of what you're selling. I would (if I didn't already know how), spend the money on having a diligent, thorough review done of my site and implementing the suggestions, and then testing, testing, testing.

At the moment. I would use it with Facebook Advertising. Not because it's the hype, but because if it's done right, you can get some of the best traffic at a low cost.

$1000 would be a good TEST amount to start with.

I would send the traffic to a Value packed training and then invite them to optin below - after the optin they would see another value based training with an offer attached (like a webinar replay or something where you deliver value, and then offer them something to buy)

Of course there would be email follow ups in the mix that would provide further value and training along with other offers.

That's a big picture overview, but all the money would go towards Facebook Ads and narrowing down the perfect niche that converts the best.

Oh, I'd make sure to have some retargeting in there too - so once they came to that first page, I could market to them again and again.

ecoverartist, I believe said it best. However, to be more specific to your original question, i would build a membership site geared towards conversion optimization. I would then hire ecoverartist to consult. Why? Everyone assumes that they know how to convert interested buyers into raving fans, it almost always turns out to be another marketer who already understands how to do it. just a thought.

I would use it to drive traffic to my primary business and at least try to break even with small sales which I can make through my funnel or by getting them to join my team which is an affordable fee to join and hopefully make the bigger sales in the back end

Hi, heres some specific advice you may or may not like.

Give it away. BUT, I'd use it to buy a laptop and an MP3 player and the remaining money have it as the first price for an affiliate sales competition, and then the laptop and MP3 as 2nd and 3rd prizes respectively.

You'd give people a huge incentive to really promote your product, and if you did it right you'd have a list of affiliates who promote you, rather than a list of people who "may" buy from you.

A couple weeks back I stumbled upon a PDF from a now defunct website where a guy who was successful at IM was asked, if you had $300 and 1 month to make $1000, what would you do. His response was to build an email list and start by "burning it", But once he got to the point where he had achieved the goal, he would start providing value in order to try and recover in order to get long term value out of the subscribers. So with that $1000, you could buy solo ads, do swaps, very targeted FB advertising etc to get optins etc. That's certainly what I would do, spend it building a list.

We are actually doing this right now, as in JUNE 2014 and making what some would call a killing!

But it does take hard work, we are not just goofing off all day down at the beach. :-)

Even guys like FRANK KERN say they are screwing off all day down the beach, when we know the truth *touches nose* Its takes hard work and dedication to make it BIG ONLINE.
