Product creation and Affiliation

Has anyone, with success, ever created a product and gone directly to top 10 sites in their niche to have them promote it? If you have, I'd like to hear your results. Over the summer I am going to test how well this works, and possibly create a how-to-guide to give for free to the forum. I've learned a lot from you guys, and want to give back.

Thank you

You have me curious. What type of product have you created? Or are you keeping that a secret?

It isn't much of a secret, its in the health related subject. however, it could typically work with any niche, so long as it is done correctly I presume.

Yes Jacob, I did this 18 months or so ago.

I actually spent half a day just going through and finding details of sites within my niche where there was a possibility that they may have promoted my product.

I ended up sending 53 emails.

I had about 12 or so replies.

    10 were a no thanks.

1 was a really rude 'get lost' email (from a reputable name in the niche, which surprised me).

1 said yes, 'send me the product details'.

It was a video course with an eBook and various other tools packed together.

I sent them over some log in details, and a couple of days later they agreed to send a test email to their list.

After sorting some of the finer points out, a date was agreed when they would broadcast my offer to their list.

In a matter of a few days after they had promoted it to their list, the product sold nearly $15k worth. (split 50/50).

The second time I worked with them was a bit different. This time I added a time constraint to increase urgency. In just a couple of days we did another $15k between us.

Thank you Romeo, this is exactly what I wanted to hear. Congrats on the results you got, well done! I have great appreciation for your share of the method, and you were blunt. I expect many sites will be very caution, or rude about the direct contact about affiliation. Are you still participating in the method? 15k is quite a bit for a single list launch.

      ((Romeo90)),

Congratulations on your success with your initial joint venture with that site owner.

Approximately how many subscribers received your offer via email?

When y'all partnered up for a second run, was your offer in the same niche or a totally different niche?

Thanks, again, for taking the time to share the details of your experience and your results. (I showed you some love by clicking on the "THANKS" button)

This method usually only works when you have a sound product and reputation to back that product. Reason being is many of the top sites get a lot of JV and partnership requests.

Most if not all of them will want to know what your EPC is before they will even consider promoting you. If you're selling a low end product ($47~) they probably won't waste their time.

However, there are always websites looking to generate new revenue, so if you contact the right person it may well be worth your time. (As can be seen by Romeo90 posts above)
